2012 FINAL NFL MOCK DRAFT

It's here. Free agency  ,pro days, visits, combines, back round ,and medical checks have taken place now .Here is how we see it happening as of today. This is not who we think they should take. It's who we think they will take. The name next to them is their NFL player comparison if they are a hit, followed by the reasons why we are giving them that player. Traded draft picks and the team they received it from are in parentheses.

1. INDY-ANDREW LUCK- STAN- NFL COMP-AARON RODGERS- GB-The next Peyton Manning? Nope ,he's 10 times the athlete but he's got that type of football IQ.He really is that good and is the closest thing to a can't miss I have ever seen from a college QB. The worse thing a scout can say about him is that he has a good arm, but not a great one.He can make every NFL throw . Both Luck and RG3 had their pro days this week and while both were excellent nothing has changed about this pick. Indy fans should rejoice because Jim Irsay decided to les the football people run the show and keep the rebuilding process going in the right way, instead of screwing up the franchise trying to run it himself. Lets not forget Irsay tried to do it all before he hired the recently fired Bill Polian . Once Polian took over the football side of things he selected Manning and built that franchise around him. Indy has been blessed to have 2 once a decade QB's fall in their laps in a row. You would have had to actively work at it to screw this up.

2. WASH-(stl)- ROBERT GRIFFIN III-BAYLOR-NFL COM- MIKE VICK-PHIL-Good GOD! They payed a lot for him, but if anyone else besides Luck is worth it , this is the kid. In every otheryear back to 1998 he would be our slam dunk as the #1 overall pick, except for 2 guys with the last name Manning. That's only because you never pass up a sure thing for a little higher upside.Model citizen, leader, and athlete. His arm and his personality are even better than Lucks to be the face of a franchise. Best deep ball in the draft and the Shannahan offense fits him to to a tee. Expect a lot of big plays on sprint outs and waggles skins fans. His stellar pro-day just confirms everything he has showed us about him. He is a franchise QB and now Washing on will have one for the first time since the Joe Theisman.

3.MINN-MATT KALIL-OT-USC- NFL COMP-JAKE LONG-MIA-Christian Ponder is doing back flips and will probably pick him up at the airport with a hug so long it gets uncomfortable. Their LT play was atrocious last year and moving Charles Johnson inside where he belongs will help alleviate some of the sting of cutting future HOFer Steve Hutchinson. They also cut RG Anthony Herrera and brought in Geoff Schwartz from Carolina. That means 3 people on their O-line will be either new to the team, or in new positions to starts the year. So this pick is crucial to the rebuilding of their O-line. If AP isn't healed up when the season starts Kalil will have his work cut out for him, because they will have to pass a lot. We think Kalil is up to the challenge. Upside is just a smidgen less than Tyron Smith from last year but he's a more polished player coming out of college and should hold down the job for 8-12 years.

4.CLEV(MINN)-TRENT RICHARDSON-RB-ALA-NFL COMP-RICKY WILLIAMS-BALT-We assume from all the media reports that Mike Holmgren makes the right choice. We will see if they really need to give up any extra picks to get their guy, but Richardson is a beast. This helps Colt McCoy and gives them a focal point for the offense. In the AFC north you have to run the ball and you need a power back in all that cold weather. They can get a receiver later.

5. TB-MORRIS CLAIBORNE-CB/KR-LSU-NFL COMP-CHAMP BAILEY-DENV-They finally spent a lot of money in free agency and have filled some big holes. Vincent Jackson takes care of receiver as a high priority. They signed the best Guard in football in Carl Nicks. They also overpayed gambling often injured CB Eric Wright to a big deal. That leaves RT,RB, and CB as major needs. #5 is probably too high For Riley Reiff. Ronde Barber is really old and hasn't even committed to coming back. Aqib Talib is one legal problem away from a suspension or jail. This draft has 8 elite players and they would be wise to take one. You need 3 or 4 CB's to play in the NFL now, so Claiboirne it is. He plays CB like a WR and should be a day 1 starter.I

6. STL-JUSTIN BLACKMON-WR- OK. ST.-NFL COMP- HAKEEM NICKS- NYG- It should be OT or WR. They had been linked to RT Eric Winston in free agency which makes me think they still believe Roger Saffold is capable of playing LT. I guess it's possible as he is still only 2 years in. Blackmon is a complete WR in every way except elite speed ,but he sure has run away from a lot of people on tape. With the haul they got from Washington, Jeff Fisher as head coach, and a healthy Bradford, expect this team to build safely and be a contender in 2 years.

7.  MELVIN INGRAM-DE/OLB-S. CAR-NFL COMP-TRENT COLE-PHIL -Luckily they resigned Jeremy Mincey but they need 2 starting caliber DE's and Aaron Kampmann is just about done .I would take Ingram too. he is the best edge rusher in this draft and versatile enough to move all over the field. If Blackmon slips we think they would run to the podium to get him, but he is gone in this scenario. Been hearing and reading reports about Stephon Gilmore here as well.

8.RYAN TANNEHILL-QB TEX A & M-NFL COMP-ALEX SMITH-SF-To build a contender you need a franchise QB. Tannehill is actually a good fit because he played in this offense , under this O coordinator in college. This si the only team that should be taking him in the top 10 because his learning curve is late this season instead of1 -2 years now.

9. CAR-DT-MICHAEL BROCKERS-DT-LSU-NFL COMP-JOHN HENDERSON-OAK-They need to stop the run and Brockers already does that like a stud. He's only going to get better as a pass rusher and will probably keep getting stronger. He's not an elite athlete but he has a elite frame, and a good motor. High floor guy that fills a big need. If Coples falls here the home town connection alone may make this happen and it wouldn't be a reach if they trust his motor.

10. BUFF-WR-MICHAEL FLOYD-WR- NFL COMP-N. DAME- DWAYNE BOWE- KC- Bufallo is in win now mode, evidenced by the the sick contract they just gave Mario Williams. I The have a history of reaching and Reilly Reiff would fill a need. There are no #1 caliber WR's left unless they want to fork out another butt load of cash for Mike Wallace and give up their top pick. Their failed pursuit of Vincent Jackson makes this even more likely to us.

11. KC-LUKE KUECHLY - ILB- BC- NFL COMP- SEAN LEE-They have no glaring holes but this fills a need and is good value too. Since they run a base 3-4 and need 2 ILB's Kuechly is a possibility. He can easily move outside when they are in the-4-3. Dontari Poe is a fit to fill their hole at 3-4 NT but his production doesn't match his talent yet, and they already used two top 5 picks on D-lineman who have been solid but haven't lived up to their draft status.

12.SEA-CINC-STEPHON GILMORE-CB-S CAR-NFL COMP-TERRELL THOMAS-CB-NYG- Every team needs more corners . Gilmore has been rising up draft boards and the more tape we watch of him the more think he might even go ahead of Kirkpatrick. Seattle already has a lot of big physical CB's and now they need one a bit quicker.

13.AZ-RILEY REIFF-OT-IOWA-NFL COMP-CHAD CLIFTON-GB -To put it nicely their O-Line is below average and if Rieff falls here I think they grab him. Their center is the only slightly above average player. They re-signed Levi Brown and hopefully will move him to RT where it's hoped he can continue the good play he finally displayed in the 2.

14.DALL-*MARK BARRON-S-ALA-NFL COMP-BRIAN DAWKINS-DEN-SS is a need and Barron is worth this pick just based on his play on tape despite his pre-draft injuries. They may have to trade up to get him though, as their is a lot of buzz about him going in the top 10 going around.. It would probably cost them to much to go after him though. With Claiborne and Gilmore gone they probably won't reach for Kirpatrick, David Decastro would be a fit as well. Most likely team besides New England to trade out of their pick. Whether it's up or down is the question.

15.PHIL-FLETCHER COX-DT-MISS ST-NFL COMP-DARNELL DOCKETT-AZ_he has been rising up draft boards for weeks and Philly needs more interior pass rush. He gives them that and injects some youth inside for them as well. With the trade of Asante Samuels and the fact that they have 2 B's who excel in man coverage what they lack is more people that can force opposing QB's to get rid of the ball quicker.

16.NYJ-CORDY GLENN-T/G-GA-NFL COMP- ANDRE WHITWORTH-CINC- ANDRE WHITWORTH-CINC- He would be a better RT and LG than either Wayne Hunter or Matt Slauson as soon as he learned the offense. They supposedly were committing to Mark Sanchez long term and a upgrade on the O-line would surely help.Of course they just brought in Tebow and Glenn would help him too. They really need another edge rusher as well.

17.CINC-#DRE KIRKPATRICK-CB-ALA-NFL COMP-IKE TAYLOR-PITT- Leon Hall is recovering from an injury, Nate Clements is in his 30's, and who knows what they will get from Pacman Jones. If Jenkins was a choir boy off the field he would probably be the 2nd CB taken. The Bengals have never shied away from character risk players , but usually they like to take those guys when they have fallen far more than their talent warrants and low ball them on a contract.

18.SD-WHITNEY MERCILUS-DE/OLB-ILL-NFL COMP-TAMBA HALI-KC- There are no #1 caliber WR's left on this team after the departure of Vincent Jackson on free agency. Unless they want to fork out another butt load of cash for Mike Wallace and give up their top pick. If Floyd falls this far I have to believe they grab him. The chargers also have big needs at OT and SS. That means Johnathan Martin, Mike Adams, Cordy Glenn,  and a host of OLB/DE hybrids are all possibles.Mercilus is the most fuid of the guys who look to be 3-4 OLB's left in this scenario.

19.CHI-DAVID DECASTRO-OG-STAN-NFL COMP-STEVE HUTCHINSON-MINN-Pair him with last years 1rst round pick (RT Gabe Carimi)and that would go a long way towards rebuilding their O-line long term.In short they need more people that can keep Jay Cutler upright. The Brandon Marshall trade filled their other big hole. It's a deep D-Line draft so they could also go there.

20.TENN- QUINTON COPLES-DE/DT-NC-NFL COMP- JULIUS PEPPERS-CHI -They need D-line help and interior O-line help badly .Since Derrick Morgan has been hurt, and may never be more than a pressure player on the edge now ,pass rusher is a need. Jason Jones left in free agency because they played him out of position at DE last year .He's a boom or bust guy though. WR and interior O-line are also needs.

21.CINC-DONTARI POE-DT-MEMPHIS-NFL COMP-KRIS JENKINS-RET-A freak of nature. A fit, agile, gorilla strong, 350 pound man who can run a sub 5 second forty . Poe is raw but very talented. He fills a need and despite the people in love with his combine workouts we feel no team is going to take him in the top 15 unless they have all their needs filled and can afford to take a risk on his potential. On tape he flashes greatness but his techniques are sloppy and lacks awareness. He's a project with a huge upside but he may take awhile to reach his potential. We don't see him as a boom or bust type because he had a solid motor on tape and is a good kid. The Bengals love high upside guys.

22.CLEV-KENDALL WRIGHT-WR-BAYLOR-NFL COMP-PERCY HARVIN-MINN- They already got their franchise RB. Now they need a WR who can stretch the field to go with big possession receiver Greg Little. Weeden is an outside possibility but we feel they can get him at the top of the 2nd or trade into the bottom of round 1 if they want him. Whoever the QB is he will have more weapons this season.

23.DET- JOSH ROBINSON-CB-UCF-NFL COMP-LEODIS McKELVIN-BUFF - No LT prospect left and they really need a CB. After rising up draft boards the whole post season this small school speedster is most likely to be the 5th CB off the board.Eric Wright was considered their top corner by many despite being repeatedly burnt while gambling in coverage. He got overpaid by Tampa bay and they should be happy he's gone for that kind of cash. Chris Houston and Aaron Berry are decent players ,but that still leaves them 1 or 2 CB's short in the majority of plays in today's NFL. They play GB's pass happy offense twice a year to boot.

24.PHIL- DONT'A HIGHTOWER- ILB- ALA- NFL COMP- LAWRENCE TIMMONS-PITT -James Farrior has been cut and this fills a big need while providing value. If Decastro or Glenn is here we would think either would be the pick but they are gone in this scenario. That would be an even better value and fill an even bigger need. So Kevin Zeitler is also has an outside chance to go here.

25. DENV-BALT- PETER KONZ-C-WISC.-NFL COMP-MATT BIRK-BALT -They have a lot of needs and Jeff Saturaday didn't come over with Peyton. He is used to a smart center who can allow him to feel safe up the middle. A run stuffing DT or a trade vack are also possibilities.

26. STEPHEN HILL-WR-GA TECH-NFL COMP-BRAYLON EDWARDS-SF - Houston inexplicably cut young in his prime stud RT Eric Winston to KC's benefit. It's unlikely their will be a RT prospect available here. Mario Williams is gone but they made the playoffs with Connor Barwin and Broooks Reed on the outside anyway. Interior zone blockers can be found on day 3 of the draft. No CB's worth the pick and Dontario Poe is gone in this scenario. It is possible they take a Alameda Ta'Amu or Brandon Thompson to play NT. WR is a need as well and Hill is also a good blocker for this run first team.

27.NE(no)- CHANDLER JONES-DE-SYR-NFL COMP-JARED ALLEN-MINN They wisely ran more 4-3 than 3-4 last year due to the personnel they had. Mercilus is a fit at 4-3 DE and has the frame ti bulk up to be a 3-4 DE in time. They lost Mark Anderson to Buffalo and Andre Carter isn't fully healed yet. An edge rusher should be taken with one of their 2 first round picks if they keep both. They signed Brandon Lloyd to a contract but still could go WR here. The smartest thing they could do is Pony up the cash for Mike Wallace and forfeit their first round pick when Pittsburgh can't afford to match it. Wes Welker still doesn't have a long term deal ,Lloyd is in his 30's, Deion Branch is too, and Ocho Cinco was a bust last year. If they don't take an edge rusher or WR with one of their first round picks then Bellichick has outsmarted hims

28.GB- *SHEA McCLELLIN-OLB/DE-BOISE ST-NFL COMP-CLAY MATHEWS-GB -The best pass rusher available in this scenario , and the best 3-4 OLB/DE hybrid available is the most likely selection. Someone besides Clay Mathews needs to apply pressure to the QB and this guy is a taller slightly less explosive version of him. Mathews sack numbers were down but he still got a ton of pressure on the QB. Taking a pass rusher here would give them pressure on the other side , and mean less double and triple teams to help Mathews sack numbers rise again. Cullen Jenkins pressure was definitely missed and D-lineman somewhere just makes the most sense. So if it's not an edge rusher a DT / 5-technique hybrid would be a fit too.

29.BALT-HARRISON SMITH-S-ND-NFL COMP-KENNY PHILLIPS-NYG  - It's definitely a need considering the age and injury history of Ed Reed  .Personally think it's a bit high for him though. They were probably hoping for Peter Konz.Ben Grubbs signed a big money deal with the saints. C Matt Birk is still playing at high level despite the fact that he will be 36 this off season. If he goes down or when he retires Konz can slide over from guard to center but he is gone here. It's possible Donta Hightower could be the pick if he's still around because he can play inside and outside.

30.SF-COBY FLEENER-STAN-NFL COMP-KELLEN WINSLOW JR-TB -Peyton, Smeyton. Alex Smith re-signed after they lost the Manning lottery. Since they just messed with his fragile confidence I think giving him more weapons is a nice apology. Michael Crabtree is more of a possession WR. They signed Randy Moss as a possible deep threat, but who knows what he has left ,and if he will even try real hard to use it. Newly signed Mario Manningham can be explosive but he is also not a guy who's going to run by the defense. Last season TE Vernon Davis filled that role and now he gets partner to stretch the field..At Stanford and last year in the NFL Jim Harbaugh proved how much he likes 2 TE sets.No WR left is worth this pick so unless they reach for somebody .

31.CLEV(trade w/NE)-BRANDON WEEDEN-QB-OKLA ST.-NFL COMP- MATT HASSELBECK-SEA-With the way they went after RG3 it's obvious they don't think Colt McCoy is the long term answer. Weeden will be 29 when the season the season starts and is ready to play now. The have been linked to him a lot in the pre-draft process and if they don't take him here we think he's a lock with their high 2nd round pick.

32.NYG-DOUG MARTIN-RB-BOISE ST-NFL COMP-AHMAD BRADSJAW-NYG-Brandon Jacobs was let go. They have a long history of taking the best player available so it could be anyone left. Martin is our highest rated player left and fills an need to pairing with the guy he reminds us of-Ahmad Bradshaw.

2012 NFL DRAFT TOP 200 PLAYER RANKINGS

The post season all star games , the senior bowl , the scouting combine , most pro days/private workouts are over .Here is the current list of the top prospects at all the positions 2 weeks away from the draft. It's the top 170 because that completes the first 5 rounds including compensatory picks.Right next to them is the NFL player player we think they most resemble in their prime "if" they are a hit.The higher they are ranked the more likely we think they will be a hit. It's actually the top 203. Top 200 +1 for God+1 for family+ 1 for football.Family emergencies prevented us from finishing a lot of profiles . Rather than post incomplete ones we will just put out the top 20 because we have completed them.

1.ANDREW LUCK- STAN- NFL COMP-AARON RODGERS- GB-The next Peyton Manning? Nope ,he's 10 times the athlete but he's got that type of football IQ.He really is that good and is the closest thing to a can't miss I have ever seen from a college QB. The worse thing a scout can say about him is that he has a good arm, but not a great one. His decision making separates from every other QB in the upper rounds. Can call plays at the line of scrimmage and reads defenses better than most NFL starters right now. Accurate in the pocket and on the move.Good arm but its's above average when his feet are set. Mobile and can make plays running with the ball if necessary, but he is a throw first QB . Teammates like him and is a hard worker and leader on ad off the field. Clean off the field as well and the son of a former NFL QB. Played in a pro style offense and coaches and teammates rave about him. Colts hit the jackpot again.

2.ROBERT GRIFFIN III-BAYLOR-NFL COM- MIKE VICK-PHIL- Son of 2 army seargents who has already graduated and is already known for his work ethic .In every other year back to 1998 he would be our slam dunk as the #1 overall pick, except for 2 guys with the last name Manning. That's only because you never pass up a sure thing for a little higher upside.Strong arm and looks to throw first but he is a playmaker in space running with the ball. His arm and his personality are even better than Lucks to be the face of a franchise. Best deep ball in the draft and the Shannahan offense should fit him well long term. Expect a lot of big plays on sprint outs and waggles skins fans. His stellar pro-day just confirms everything he has showed us about him. Accurate downfield but will need to adjust to an NFL offense after spending so much time in a spread in college. His spread offense did have multiple reads ,and he has the football IQ to call his own plays / audibles at the line of scrimmage. Also needs to adjust to spending most of his time under center.Has a major knee injury in his past but came back stronger than ever. When we compare him to Vick as a player we mean now. Coming out of college he blows Vick away as a passer and is a lot bigger.Won a lot of big games and made huge strides from last season to this one, which is tribute to his work ethic. First Heisman trophy winner in Baylor history. Model citizen, leader, student, and athlete.

3.TRENT RICHARDSON-RB-ALA-NFL COMP-RICKY WILLIAMS-BALT-Dude runs angry and will punish defenders if he knows he's going to be tackled anyway. Big and fast with a bell cow backs mentality and is proven in big games at the collegiate level. Explosive , can change direction and is fast enough to take it to the house .Regularly displays jump cuts ,spin moves, and can cut back it back and run to daylight . Almost 230 pounds despite being about 5"10" and his low center of gravity makes him impossible to arm tackle.Great vision and patience to find the hole, but he can create one of it isn't there. Fierce pass protector who looked improved as a receiver at his pro day. Mature and people who know him go to bat for him as a person. The safest pick in this draft outside of Decastro or.Luck . However, the physical way he runs and the nature of the position he plays means his first contract will likely be the one where he makes his mark . 5 years of dominance is worth this pick though and he has no serious injury history.  He is an all around better player than Adrian Peterson coming out . Peterson has always had fumbling issues and to this day is still not much help in the passing game, although he does a little more have more long speed than Trent. He reminds us of Ricky Williams with a stronger mentality and no off field problems. We would be shocked if he got out of the top 5.

4.MORRIS CLAIBORNE-CB/KR-LSU-NFL COMP-CHAMP BAILEY-DENV-Former WR who plays corner like a WR with great hands for a defender. A ball hawk who challenges everything in the air. Slightly above average height and  a little thin because of his long frame.Could be a bit stronger but he is willing in run support and a solid tackler.Has really long arms to contest and go after passes. Fluid hips and quick feet but he can get a little high at times in zone or off man. Physical in man and can bump and run at a NFL level now.Good- not great speed but does have an explosive burst to the ball. Clean off the field and has a great corners ability to let bad plays go but he had so few in college its scary. Also a big play returner and standout all around special teamer. No history of serious injury. Started big games against top competition in college at met the challenge. Is a  play maker even though he was somewhat overshadowed by the honey badger at LSU. Franchise QB's are the hardest thing to find in this league. True shutdown CB's are the second hardest, and he is one.

5.DAVID DECASTRO-G/C-STAN-NFL COMP-STEVE HUTCHINSON-MINN-This is the best guard prospect to come out of college since the aforementioned Steve Hutchinson. A plug and play beast of a man .  This guy has the highest floor of anyone in the draft . He is a smooth smart pass protector with great hand placement .I didn't see him just whiff and let his man come free once in the 11 games of his I watched this season ,and you see that in the NFL from pro bowlers every once in awhile. There are a lot of times on pass plays he blows the cup because he is still at the line of scrimmage and everyone else has dropped or been pushed back .High football IQ with a strong awareness of stunts and schemes. A mobile pulling guard who hits his target far more than I have ever seen from a college O-lineman ever , and I have been watching college football for 25 years.A fierce straight ahead drive blocker but he can get out leveraged occasionally because he is tall for a guard. Can get walked back to the QB every once in  awhile but its rare. Polished technical blocker combined with a play to the whistle nastiness .Has no real flaws to his game ,but could get a bit stringer in his trunk. Great football IQ and awareness and we would rate him as the top center as well. Clean off the field and known for his work ethic. Guards rarely go in the top 20 let alone the top 10, but he would grab him at #t if we were making Jacksonville's pick and Blackmons gone.

6.MATT KALIL-OT-USC- NFL COMP-JAKE LONG-MIA-The only OT prospect in this class currently worth a top 10 pick and the only one of the guys likely to go in the first round that is definitely a staring left tackle as a rookie. Solid but inconsistent technique and needs to specifically be coached up on staying low with more regularity. Prototypical build and frame to protect the blindside and he could add 20 pounds and still be as quick to play the left side. Long enough arms and quick enough feet to play the left side but he is more above average than elite in this area.Needs to be more angry with his hand punch but he is quick into his pass sets, and he can shuffle and slide when he stays low.  Mauling run blocking mentality when he says low ,and has good hand placement, but he seems to screw this up 5-8 games a game right now. When he locks in and gets a guy going backwards he will bury him with a will. Above average awareness in pass pro and knows his assignments down field . Is a finisher and even can contribute as kick blocker on special teams . NFL bloodlines and no known character problems. Good enough to keep last years top tackle Tyron Smith on the right side at USC although his upside isn't as high. Played in a pro style offense and in a lot of big games in college and played very well in them.

7.JUSTIN BLACKMON-WR- OK. ST.-NFL COMP- HAKEEM NICKS- NYG-First off let me say he's no Dez Bryant... he's actually a lot better prospect than Dez was coming out of college because he is clean as a whistle on and off the field. Can improve as route runner but he is also better than Dez here. Fierce going after the ball with Strong hands . Regularly worked over the middle with a wide catch radius. Good size but he plays bigger than he is and is a physical runner after the catch. Not a burner but good enough long speed to run away from a lot of people on tape and reaches his top speed quickly. Has a good enough burst out of his breaks and easily beats press coverage. Despite not being an elite athlete he or smooth route runner he can separate on tape when running NFL routes. However he played in a spread in college and didn't run a lot them . We watched every game of his the last 2 years and are confident that he will be a playmaker at the next level anyway. Knows how to use his body to out muscle, shield, and go after the ball in short yardage and red zone situations.Willing blocker but can improve in this area. The first WR to win back to back Biletnikoff awards as the nations top receiver. Smart player who knows when to break of his route and come to help his QB.He's not the elite caliber WR Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, AJ Geeen, Julio Jones type coming out of college-but he's the best coming out this year and safe pick at a position that is known for busts.

8.LUKE KUECHLY - ILB- BC- NFL COMP- SEAN LEE- DALL-High football IQ and elite in zone coverage for a LB, but I wouldn't want him running 20 yards downfield with a RB . Can QB a defense for the next 10 years and has the versatility to play the weak inside in a 3-4 and all the position in a 4-3 but we like him best inside.Excellent read and recognition skills and a true student of the game. Stacks and sheds well but he is not known for blowing up blockers in the hole and can be engulfed by a lineman in the hole now and then. NFL size and speed for the position. One of the rare LB's with the ability to play the middle in a Tampa 2 scheme and cover the deep middle. Great form tackler and knows when to secure a tackle and go for the big hit. Highly productive and can cover a lot of ground , but not quite a sideline to sideline guy. Clean off the field and a leader in on and off it. Guy just makes plays and he has high floor. ILB's rarely go in the top 10 but this guy is the exception to the rule.

9.MICHAEL BROCKERS-DT-LSU-NFL COMP-JOHN HENDERSON-OAK- Ideal measurables. Tall thick frame that could ad another 15 pounds of muscle even though he's already in the 320's now. Long arms and uses them to keep lineman off him. Plays low for such a tall guy and is beastly run stuffer inside. Can play inside in a 4-3 and outside in a 3-4 for certain in the NFL right now. The more we see of him the more we think he can even play the nose in a 3-4 as he regularly held his own against the double team at LSU. Smart player who is always looking for the ball and his wing span makes his hard to get by. Quick off th snap but raw as a pass rusher right now. Needs to add more moves to his repertoire but he can push the pocket with his bull rush and redirect passes when he remembers to get his arms up. Has violent hands and that makes me think he will develop as a pass rusher quickly. Any other moves regularly seeing him losing his leverage and can be controlled to easily when this happens. Good( not great ) athlete but he really needs to be coached up in the passing game. Only a 1 year starter and came out as red shirt sophomore but his potential is huge, and if he returned to school for another year he would have been a likely top 5 pick. He has good motor and is reportedly a good kid that NFL teams liked in the interview room. Since he can play the run now ,is clean off the field, loves the game, has the personalty to take to coaching in the passing game, and has a good motor we think he's worth a top 10 pick now. One of those guys that we feel teams will regret passing on a couple years from now if not sooner.

10.CORDY GLENN-T/G-GA-NFL COMP- ANDRE WHITWORTH-CINC- Just an absolutely Huge man. Can play any position along the O-line but center as at least a short term fill in and probably both guard spots and RT long term. Needs to work on staying lower as a run blocker and if he does he could be a dominant guard. As it is he tends to engulf people in line through sheer mass and force most of the time anyway. Despite his agility for such a large guy he's only average down field right now, except as a big road block you have to go around, but that does help a little. Usually down field he is off balance and has trouble latching on ,or even making regular significant contact with his man, but if he connects he can send a guy sprawling.Even a nudge from him can spring a guy though. As is I think he can still be a good RT or LG because his pass blocking is still good enough despite poor technique. He is not only massive, he is wide with long arms and just hard to get by anywhere on the field. Just quick enough out of his stance in pass pro  but his feet aren't good enough to play the left tackle spot right now .Could develop into one by improving his technique , shedding a few pounds, and better conditioning. Started out a little slow at the senior bowl but by the end if it he had the best overall week of any O-lineman in our opinion. Also showed really well at the combine. If he gets in better shape and works on his technique he can handle the blindside. It's a safe bet someone will draft him accordingly

11.*MARK BARRON-S-ALA-NFL COMP-BRIAN DAWKINS-RET-The only college safety we have rated in the 1rst round this year, although there are CB's who could move to safety and be with a first round grade. He's a team leader who quarterbacks the secondary, has played through multiple injuries, and been highly productive against top competition.Had hernia surgery after the season, missed the combine, and teams had to wait a long time to work . Worked out well despite not being  100% , convinced teams ti that he will be healthy for the season, and has shot back up draft boards since that day. Good NFL frame and bulk. Long arms to contest throws and shed blocks. Is like a rocket coming downhill when he makes his read in the run game and he will light up players up and get in their heads. Above average red & recognition skills and is a a play maker with good ball skills .Has a long history of big plays at Alabama and was a key player of last seasons national championship team.Has special teams personality and attitude who will throw his body around with reckless abandon. Best in the box in college and he rarely played the center fielder role , but we think he could still be productive at FS as well. When he makes his read he's immediately off to lay the wood , but is also a solid tackler who can break down in space when he just needs to secure the play. Physical in press and can run with TE's and RB's in the short area but not a super freak who can keep up down field in man coverage with speed burners.Elite SS in zone coverage and we think that;s where he will spend the majority of the game in the NFL.  Can blitz and is good at disguising his intentions in coverage. Since he at his best in the box , has an off the field incident in his past, and has a long history of injury we can't justify him being ranked in the top 109. We have heard and read all over the place that many teams have him ranked there though. Either way he looks like a long term starter with the chance to be an elite player at his position in the NFL.

12.FLETCHER COX-DT-MISS ST-NFL COMP-DARNELL DOCKETT-AZ-Good NFL frame with long arms( 5 blocked kicks in college)  , big hands, and the size to add another 10-15 lbs of muscle without sacrificing quickness. Elite burst off the ball and clearly the best pass rusher of all the interior D-lineman in the draft. Strong enough to hold the point and it shows as well in his bull rush, but to often tries to get by his man instead of going through him and maintaining gap integrity. Multiple pass rush moves but his best ones are coming forward ,Not great on slants , stunts, twist . Needs to be allowed to penetrate and is an ideal 3 technique in a 4-3 cover 2 scheme or a 5 technique in a 3-4. Has a tendency to over penetrate and get washed out of plays and struggles with leverage in the run and pass games. . Can blow up run  plays in the back field ,but needs to improve his awareness of the ball carrier and stay home and remember his assignment. He can stack and shed when he tries to but he is usually just trying to get past the blocker without worrying about the gaps that can open up in a D-line. If this guy improves his ability to consistently stay low he will be an elite NFL D-lineman.Has a little character and maturity concern in his background but reportedly matured a lot this season. Has a good motor and is a vocal player and  intimidator on the line of scrimmage. He will make enough big plays to be well known anyway, but unless he improves against the run he will never truly be a complete, and therefore elite NFL player. If he buckles down and takes to coaching he's can make a Warren Sapp like impact very quickly. Because he has such a good motor , he is productive on tape, and because it's predominantly a passing league now we think he worth this high a pick. However,we can't put a guy in the top 10 who doesn't play with consistent leverage in the run and pass game.

13.STEPHON GILMORE-CB-S CAR-NFL COMP-TERRELL THOMAS-CB-NYG- I have heard talk that this fast riser might be better than Claiborne in the weeks leading up to the draft. He's good but not that good. He is similar to Claiborne in most ways except-1.His ball skills are good but not as good as Claibornes. 2.isn't as explosive as a returner.3. Doesn't play off man or trail as well. There is lot to like about him though, He is tall and fluid with great feet when he stays low in his back pedal. As a press man corner he could be a day 1 starter but the shuffle and bail he played in a lot messes with is feet and his technique gets sloppy. He can break on the ball in zone but tends to be high too often when playing off the line. He improved a lot last year contesting the ball and fighting for the pick but he also tends to get blatantly grabby at times.Willing to support the run but his tackling technique can be  crappy. He's a head ducker too often and that leads to big gains sometimes. Can play safety and in the slot as well. Whether it's man or zone if you put him at the line and let him press he can start right away ,or at the very least play the nickle as a rookie. Good football IQ and a clean off the field student athlete that has improved all 3 years in college. Played CB in the SEC at a high level as freshman and has kept getting better.

14.MICHAEL FLOYD-WR- NFL COMP-N. DAME- DWAYNE BOWE- A big psychical target that excels in going up and getting the ball at it's highest point. Good enough top speed but takes awhile to reach it and needs to improve his sink before he makes his breaks.  Bulked up in 2010 and really had trouble separating to the point we thought he might move to TE. Slimmed back down last year and looked like a #1 WR again. Great hands with a wide catch radius and will fight for every ball. Big play threat down the field and he will out muscle/out jump corners with ease. He's a physical runner after the catch but isn't a threat to take bubble screen 40 yards down the field for a touchdown. Much improved effort as a blocker and can dominate his man whenever he wants to in the run game. He's the type of guy you should always throw it up to if he's one on one down field. Has some boom or bust to him due multiple off the feild incidents ,and injury history,Has done everything right as a senior and did well in the pre-draft process once he healed up, but you have to wonder how he will do once he gets paid. If he had Justin Blackmons character and personality we would have him ranked ahead of Justin,  This is the highest we can justify picking him right now though.

15.#RILEY REIFF-OT-IOWA-NFL COMP-CHAD CLIFTON-GB- The best technician of all the firsts round possibilities at OT. Definitely a RT , and we think he can play LT in the right scheme. Good quickness but not an elite athlete, despite being a former TE. Can also play Guard and has a finishers mentality in the run game. Can run block in any scheme and plays with consistent leverage and technique off the ball. Is a natural knee bender with the ability to re-anchor and balance to right himself on those rare occasions that someone gets underneath him. In pass pro his technique is also good isn't quite as consistent . Quick into his pass sets and can shuffle and slide to mirror his man despite having only having average feet for the left side .Needs to get stringer in his trunk as a strong bull rusher can walk him back to the QB. If he does play on the left side he will need help against elite speed rushers around the edge. Real strong at not giving up the inside and has excellent hand placement and a solid punch off the snap  when he uses it.High football IQ and awareness that can be seen blocking multiple players when he gets the chance and always play to the whistle. Has a major off the field incident in his past as a freshman at Iowa,  but has been clean since.  A 3 year starter with a high floor and football IQ but his lack of a high ceiling could see him fall out of the top 10.

16.DONTARI POE-DT-MEMPHIS-NFL COMP-KRIS JENKINS-RET.-A freak of nature. A fit, agile, gorilla strong, 350 pound man who can run a sub 5 second forty . Poe is raw but very talented and his upside is enormous. He plays with good leverage and his strength shines through on film, Can stack and shed inside and hold the pint of attack vs the double team. His techniques are unpolished in every other phase of the game.  Has the quickness to penetrate and agilty to move up and down the line of scrimmage in a 3-4 or 4-3 once he gets coached up. Flashes greatness on film but too often seems lost or ends up on the ground. Lacks awareness in the run and pass game to find the ball. The only effective pass rush moves he has are a bull rush or rip. He can spin but seems lost when he comes out of it sometimes and his swim moves is a chest exposing disaster. As a pass rusher too often ends up being too high or off balance. Low football IQ and is rarely as explosive off the ball as his quickness would make you think . Can play the NT in a 3-4 and the strong side end as well. Can play either inside spot in a 4-3. He's clean off the field , has a solid motor, and is reportedly a hard worker that teams liked in the interview room. Can be very productive as 1 rookie as 3-4 NT in our opinion if he doesn't play in a scheme that requires him to have 2 gap responsibilities, because he isn't aware enough to cover both lanes in the run game just yet. A soon as he gets coached up he can be elite because he has the ability to be a 3 down interior lineman. I can't see someone with this kind of potential slipping out of the top 20 and he could go in the top 10.

17.QUINTON COPLES-DE/DT-NC-NFL COMP- JULIUS PEPPERS-CHI-The most talented all the upper tier DE's this season. He's not the super explosive athlete that Jean Pierre Paul is but he has the frame, strength, and quickness to be a top 5 pick. Looks like something was definitely wrong last season. Whether he had a case of Senioridas last season, just didn't like the position change, or maybe he was playing to avoid injury, he clearly wasn't the same player last year. Whatever it was he wasn't the same player we saw the year before. Has played DT as well as DE. His best positions are strong-side 4-3 end or weak side 4-3 DT right now. He has the frame to add a little more weight and play weak side 3-4 end pretty soon. Strong against he run when his motor is on and can already stack and shed like a pro.Good pass rusher but he will be limited to the strong side in a 4-3 as an end. Can move inside on passing downs and that might be his best fit long term  when you consider how much better he played as a DT in 2010. The frame too add a little weight and be a good 3-4 end and we think he would be better fit there as well. Off the field issues have dogged him and maturity, motor and work ethic concerns could see him fall. He could go as high as #8 or fall out of the 20's. Boom or bust guys that you need to to motivate and that different teams like at different positions are tricky, We wouldn't take him before 20 though.

18.COBY FLEENER-STAN-NFL COMP-KELLEN WINSLOW JR-TB- A tall long mismatch in the a passing game with frame to add more weight to help him as a blocker. Explodes off the ball as receiver like a much smaller man and reaches top end speed quickly if he isn't bumped.A shifty route runner who knows how to set defenders up plays in advance. He's not just tall ,he has long arms and is a good enough  leaper you can just throw it up to down the field. Can stretch the field and will go over the middle to make the tough catch.Strong hands but will occasionally try to take off before the ball get there and make an easy drop.Smart enough to find hole sin the zone and will come back to his QB when he's in trouble. Not enough time spent in line as a blocker despite being in an offense that calls for it . He is a willing blocker but but lacks physicality and a finishers mentality right now. Needs to bulk up some, especially in his lower body. Has played through injuries and is clean off the field. Given the success of so many TE's this year , the absolute match up might mare he will be for opposing defenses, and the fact that the NFL is a copycat league we think he warrants a top 20 pick. We doubt he will go this high though and think he will be a good value for whoever gets him later. Can't see him getting past Indy at the top of the second round if he falls that far.

19.DONT'A HIGHTOWER- LB- ALA- NFL COMP-  LAWRENCE TIMMONS-PITT -. An extremely versatile athlete with ideal measurables for an inside LB. Can play either inside spot in a 3-4 and the middle or strong side in a 4-3.Could probably also play on the weak side as a 3-4 OLB or 4-3 DE, and is an explosive pass rusher when they use him there. Has good instincts in coverage but his reads are only average right now. Definitely has the ability to be a 3 down LB but isn't polished in pass defense just yet. A thumper in the run game that can blow up lineman/ fullbacks in the hole ,or punish ball carriers. Can also play special teams. Needs to play with a high motor more consistently and that would be the reason why he might fall some on draft day.Football IQ is good enough(not great )for a ILB and QB of a defense, However his read and recognition skills did improve a lot this season compared to last year.  His potential is higher than Luke Kuechly but his production on film isn't as good.Has had a serious injury (knee) in college but seems unaffected by them now. Team leader and captain known for his work ethic off the field ,and is clean there as well.

20.MELVIN INGRAM-DE/OLB-S. CAR-NFL COMP-TRENT COLE-PHIL-He'a an explosive versatile pas rusher that can get to the QB no matter where you out him. He's stocky and uses it to get under O-linemans pads , get them on skates and shed them . He also can run the arc around the edge  bend under taller OT's, and bull rush well. Fires off the ball low and has violent hands. Does tend to tire sometimes but I don't think it's a lack of motor.   Is strong and can stack and shed against the run. Can hold the edge but isn't as disciplined as he can be with coaching. Only a 1 year full time starter but they used him everywhere. He can play 4-3 strong-side backer, either 4-3 end, 3-4 and 3-4 OLB. Has the speed and hustle to chase down plays when he gets the opportunity. Needs work on his tackling but he can strike with violence. Football IQ is in question but his ability to make plays isn't Has the athleticism to drop into coverage when needed and the strength to move inside to DT on 3rd and long. No matter where you out him his best asset is getting after the QB and we feel he would he succeed  even more if he is always attacking and has limited other responsibilities. Shorter arms then you want but he uses them well. Has had multiple injuries but none that affect him long term and will play through pain .  He needs technique work in every phase of his game. That more than anything makes me think he's going to be pro bowler. If he's this good with sloppy techniques what will he be when he gets coached up more? Has reportedly grown up some in college and had a great senior bowl.
