2024 NFL MOCK DRAFT - 9/26/23

 With the interconference games finally in full swing this week a lot more meaningful games were played last weekend. Plus the NFL pecking order is a little more clear after 3 weeks , and I have to admit there have been a lot of surprises in that regard , but a LOT of significant injuries' have altered the future draft order in my eyes as well. So far it looks like a higher quality of players than 2023 as a whole , but unless the plethora of QB's are hits , it's another draft that only has a few blue chip players at the top. I have watched all of these players actually play many times  , but that is not the same as breaking down the film on them, and as of now I have only currently broken down the film on one game for 172 players.  Although I am also now up to 55 players that I have evaluated for least 3 games. However there is still so much more tape to watch. Throw in the guys who are draft eligible sophomores that I don't expect to even contemplate going Pro so early, or that haven't played much yet and aren't on my radar right now, and you get the picture. Then chime in with the fact we have little idea what teams will need at that time because of injuries, free agency, retirements , trades , the cap, and who knows what else could happen ? Plus the transfer portal & NIL money has drastically changed the face of college football. These days unless you are guaranteed to be a top 100 pick you might want to take the NIL money , stay in school , and try to improve your draft stock.  I just had the week off and spent a lot of it watching  quarterbacks. I already have 27 QB's on my watch list , and that number could still grow , but there is still a long way to go. So many guys disappoint, go back to school, get injuries, get in trouble , and others come out of the woodwork.  Basically we are all still a long from decoding this draft at this time. I am making a even harder prediction to guess the draft order. Don't lose your minds if your team is picking high here, because the NFL season isn't over, and this is just as big of a guess as the actual players right now. This is NOT a rankings list of my top 32, but just my guess at how the draft will go at this time. The picks are all mine, and so is the order if you want to be mad at someone. In addition to it looking like a better draft overall than 2023 there some positions that have stuck out so far. Right now QB , OT , CB , DT ,  WR , and strangely enough safety & guard look potentially deep at the moment. I mean real guards too. Not college offensive tackles who fail down to guard because I already see 5 that have a chance to go in the top 75 picks. Plus unlike last years predominantly undersized WR class there is a lot of bigger wideouts potentially available in the 2024 draft. I still expect a QB to go #1  , and I expect the Cardinals to have the first pick. It's also hard for me to see Arizona trading Kyler Murray with all the guaranteed money on his deal, and even harder for me to believe someone will trade for him once he gets healthy , and they could trade the pick for a large haul to keep the rebuild going quickly. Although they could still take a QB anyway. Kyler himself was drafted the year after they took Josh Rosen in the 1rst round , but the only team I can think of right now that might want Murray in a trade is Atlanta.  I am putting a QB at #1 either way. So a lot of trades will probably happen, but I don't put trades in mocks until it's draft season again. Without further ado here it is. 2024 NFL MOCK DRAFT - 9/18/23

 After 4 weeks of college football I have been happily grinding tape like a pig in slop , and some things are becoming more clear. So far it looks like a higher quality of players than 2023 as a whole.  Although I still have only done limited work on most of these guys, except for the few players who I jumped the gun on because I expected them to enter the 2022 draft, but they instead opted to stay in school. While I have watched all of these players actually play many times  , that is not the same as breaking down the film on them, and I have only currently broken down the film on one game for 157 players.  Although I am also now up to 45 players that I have evaluated for least 3 games. However there is still so much more tape to watch. Throw in the guys who are draft eligible sophomores that I don't expect to even contemplate going Pro so early, or that haven't played much yet and aren't on my radar right now, and you get the picture. 2023 Record Predictions

This off season that led us here saw the retirement of the G.O.A.T. in Tom Brady & the changing of teams by another of the great ALL TIME QB's in Aaron Rodgers.  A unpredictable draft too, and with the preseason about to come to an end it's time to pull out the crystal ball. Don't sweat it that all my win & loss totals won't match up , because it's really difficult to give even a team that I expect to be really bad only 1 or 2 wins at a time when everyone's still healthy , especially when no teams players will be giving up early. This is my belief on how teams stack up on paper before the season begins, Obviously it's hard to predict the records this early, especially in football where major injuries are more prevalent than in any other sport , and one key injury can derail a entire teams season. However,  I am game. Agreeing is disagreeing in the comments is welcome, but please keep it respectful or I won't post it.

2024 NFL MOCK DRAFT 9/6/23

The college season is in full swing now so changes are popping up in mocks across the land as players rise & fall , and I have a few new guys in this mock myself. So far it looks like a higher quality of players than 2023 as a whole. Started grinding tape during day 3 of the 2023 draft, and except for 2 week long vacation breaks I have been going through tape for next years possible players pretty steadily.  Although I still have only done limited work on most of these guys, except for the few players who I jumped the gun on because I expected them to enter the 2022 draft, but they instead opted to stay in school. While I have watched all of these players actually play many times  , that is not the same as breaking down the film on them, and I have only currently broken down the film on one game for 140 players.  Although I am also now up to 41 players that I have evaluated for least 3 games. However there is still so much more tape to watch. Throw in the guys who are draft eligible sophomores that I don't expect to even contemplate going Pro so early, or that haven't played much yet and aren't on my radar right now, and you get the picture. Then chime in with the fact we have little idea what teams will need at that time because of injuries, free agency, retirements , trades , the cap, and who knows what else could happen ? Plus the transfer portal & NIL money has drastically changed the face of college football. These days unless you are guaranteed to be a top 100 pick you might want to take the NIL money , stay in school , and try to improve your draft stock.  I had never previously had more than 19 QB'S on my pre-season watchlist of draft eligible QB's , and that was last season. Well I already have 25 right now , and that number could still grow.  It's still huge guess work this far out , but I have already been impressed by double digit guys that I have added to my watch list in the first 2 weeks of the season , although there is a long way to go before draft day. So many guys disappoint, go back to school, get injuries, get in trouble , and others come out of the woodwork.  Basically its a crapshoot at this time. I am making a even harder prediction to guess the draft order. Don't lose your minds if your team is picking high here, because the NFL season hasn't even started yet , and this is just as big of a guess as the actual players right now. This is NOT a rankings list of my top 32, but just my guess at how the draft will go at this time. The picks are all mine, and so is the order if you want to be mad at someone. In addition to it looking like a better draft overall than 2023 there some positions that have stuck out so far. Right now QB , OT , CB , DT ,  and strangely enough safety & guard look potentially deep at the moment. I mean real guards too. Not college offensive tackles who fail down to guard because I already see 5 that have a chance to go in the top 75 picks.  I just got done with a deeper look into the the corners & QB's since my last mock , but right now I currently am adding a lot of new players from the games I watch each weekend. I still expect a QB to go #1  , and I expect the Cardinals to have the first pick. It's also hard for me to see Arizona trading Kyler Murray with all the guaranteed money on his deal, and even harder for me to believe someone will trade for him once he gets healthy , and they could trade the pick for a large haul to keep the rebuild going quickly. Although they could still take a QB anyway. Kyler himself was drafted the year after they took Josh Rosen in the 1rst round , but the only team I can think of that might want Murray in a trade is Atlanta.  I am putting a QB at #1 either way. So a lot of trades will probably happen, but I don't put trades in mocks until it's draft season again. Without further ado here it is.
