The 2027 DRAFT is FULL of potential first round QB'S , although a lot of this crop hasn't lived up to their potential this season. To be fair some have exceeded expectations too , but all of them won't actually be entered into the 2027 draft . Of the 9 draft eligible QB's that I have currently watched that I could see eventually becoming first round signal callers , at least 3 of them will probably need another year of college , and 8 of the 9 are at least eligible to stay in college for 2028. Yes that includes Arch Manning . Lets not forget that both of his uncles played 4 years in college , he has been wildly inconsistent this season , his mechanics are not worthy of the name Manning , and both Peyton & Eli were better because they stayed longer in college. The way I see it there are 8 teams ( Dolphins , Jets , Browns , Steelers , Colts , Dallas , Vikings , Cardinals ) that DEFINITELY need to draft a new QB , and a few more possible teams depending on how this season plays out. All of those teams except the Colts still have a first round pick right now , but all of those teams should be drafting a QB relatively high in 2027. Yet the WR class is really taking steps to challenge the QB's as the best position in this draft , even though that doesn't even include studs like Malachi Toney or Jesse Legree who aren't even eligible for the 2027 draft , but there a dozen draft eligible WR's that I could see having a legit shot at round one in April . In addition this safety class may only have one or two guys who come off the board in the top 50, but a lot of them look like NFL starters. Obviously I still need to watch a lot more tape to get a more definitive idea about who these players are heading into the draft, but the more you watch the more you know. So at around two thirds of the way through the season this is what I'm seeing. I'm sure many of you , especially the ones who didn't like their teams draft this year, or who think that their team is likely to be picking high in 2027 draft are curious about next year. With the exception of a whopping 11 players who I jumped the gun on because I expected them to enter the 2026 draft, but who instead opted to stay in school , I am still just scratching the surface on getting to know most of them . At this point I am still gathering the names of players to watch for the upcoming season. Although ALL 11 of those players I mistakenly thought to be entering the 2026 draft look like day one or at least day 2 draftees already , and I had already done 3 or more games on all of them. So while I have watched all of these players actually play more than once , that is not the same as breaking down the film on them, and I have only currently broken down the film on one game for the 314 players on my watch list as of today. Yet I hope to evaluate at least 3 games for well over 400 prospects before the 2027 draft week rolls around , and at least 200 players will get more than double that amount of games , and some guys will make me watch well over a dozen games to get a good feel for them. As of now I have only done 3 or more games on 112 players , but I am making progress. For the most part the better a player is on that first tape the more I dive into his film trying to get the correct read on his future in the NFL , but as the season progresses I will get more done on the younger guys , and the players who didn't immediately stand out on that first film study. EXAMPLE - I have done limited work on most of the guys who are draft eligible sophomores that I don't expect to even contemplate going Pro so early, or that haven't played much yet so they aren't fully on my radar right now. Then chime in with the fact we have little idea what teams will need at that time because of injuries, free agency, retirements , the cap, suspensions , and who knows what else could happen ? Plus the transfer portal & NIL money has drastically changed the face of college football. So many guys disappoint, go back to school, get injuries, get in trouble , and others come out of the woodwork every single year. Yet the 2027 draft has the makings of an elite class with mutual potential premier prospects at the game's most valuable positions. QB , EDGE. WR, DT , AND CB all look like they have at least one blue chip guy , but it wouldn't surprise me if there are 10 blue chip prospects in the 2027 draft. The Jets have 3 first round picks , and 2 of them ( including their own ) look like they have a shot to be in the top 5. So they definitely have the ammo to get the franchise QB their team has needed for my entire lifetime. The draft order is all mine so if you want to be mad about it I am to blame , but that's just how I feel the season is going right now. I don't include trades until it's draft season , but I expect a lot of trades at the top of the draft this time around. Without further ado here it is.
