After the 2020 draft came to an end I am sure many of you were thinking that was weird . We didn't have as much information as we usually do, and the draft was even more of a crapshoot than usual . 2021 is likely to be a lot worse . So many top players heading into the year opted out , and now we didn't get to see them progress or regress as usual . My top OT, WR , Off The Ball LB , EDGE rusher , interior O-Lineman , CB , Safety , and about 10 other guys I expected to be top 50 picks just either opted out entirely , or played a game or 2 then quit . I debated skipping this whole draft season, because so many players I was looking forward to watching aren't playing . In the end , I love football too much not to watch, it would drive me crazy if I had to take other people's evaluations blindly ( even if I love & respect their opinions) , I'm bored & out of work like many of you in the Covid trials , and maybe I'm a glutton for punishment too . To me this draft is going to be a choice between athletic potential and lower upside guys who actually played & played well. Kind of like the NBA draft where you see a lot of one and done guys who haven't put much on tape ,but still still have such a high upside that they go in the lottery . On The bright side if some of these guys have spent the whole season training at a pre-combine performance center the combine should see some truly impressive specimens showing out in Indy . Right now I see a draft potentially deep at QB , OT , interior O-LINE , WR , CB , and possibly even off the ball LB if the players I expect enter the draft . A lot of these guys will get hurt, disappoint on or off the field, and some probably won't even enter the draft The picks are all mine ,but keep in mind that I have done very limited tape study on these prospects so far , and that there is still a long way to go . Don't forget that there are 2 new playoff teams this season . One in each conference, and that means the 14 teams with the lowest draft slots made the playoffs. The draft order is mine too, and based on how I think the season will end . Without further ado , here it is. Feel free to leave a comment. Agreeing or disagreeing is welcome, but please do it intelligently and respectfully. If you can't, or resort to personal attacks, I just won't post it. So here it is. Enjoy.
