2017 NFL DRAFT BEST AVAILABLE FOR DAY 2

DRAFT DAY! I did 340 players in total, and I have watched at least 3 games on all of them except for the small school guys I only got 2 on some of theirs. Some of the more likely first rounders I have already watched over 10 games, and some of the guys I thought were going to come out last year I am way past that as well. So anyone on this list has earned their place in my eyes. This is a weird draft. I have never seen a draft where so many high end talents have so many long term injury concerns , are currently injured , have off the field or football character questions, or even a combination in some cases. Not to mention there are lot of top talents with limited starting experience at a high level of football . Also in the last 2 months Sidney Jones, Fabian Moreau, Rueben Foster, and Jabril Peppers and now even Gareon Conley have had major injuries or character questions that affected their draft stock. That's 3 guys I had definite first round grade on and 2 guys I had a second on. The draft is more skewed toward defense in both depth and possible top 100 talents. Corner back , edge rushers ,and safety are the deepest positions on that side of the ball, but as I mentioned the corners have taken a huge hit in possible first rounders recently. On offense the deepest positions are ones that have been devalued on the NFL over the last decade, but if your team needs a TE or running back , this is good year for you. While there is no sure fire top 10 number one receiver prospect, there is a lot of depth at that position too, but all the possible first rounders have questions as well. While I wouldn't be surprised if QB needy teams select as many as 4 signal callers in the first round I ONLY have a first round grade on 2 of them of them right now,  and I would only take either of them in the bottom 3rd of the first round . Keep in mind that some of these guys have injuries discovered during the medical checks that aren't released to the general public to their full extent, have unknown to the general public character questions, and impressed and/or disappointed at the combine in interviews ,or during visits with teams.  A lot of the prospects have former or current NFL player comparisons below their names , so you can get an idea of who it is your team might be getting. The higher they are ranked the more likely I think they reach that comparison. So while Pat Mahomes reminds me of Brett Favre, I have ranked him far enough away from the top to point out it's not a high probability that he reaches that comp. If you don't know the player then just run a search.  The heights and weights are based on their listed measurements at the combine in most cases, but some come from Pro days. Feel free to leave a comment. Agreeing or disagreeing is welcome, but please do it intelligently and respectfully. If you can't, or resort to personal attacks, I just won't post it. It's actually a top 203, because there is one extra 1 each for faith, family, and football. So here it is. Enjoy.

# Is for a player with with reported character or maturity concerns.

** Is for a player with reported injury concerns.

BLUE CHIP TALENTS

These are the kind of players that I would be willing to trade into the expensive top 10 to get, These guys all have shown consistent growth over their college careers, have at least 2 back to back years of good tape, have strong motors, and are without significant injury or character concerns. As always franchise quarterback trumps all, but I don't have one in this group.

9.#JOE MIXON - RB - OKLAHOMA - 6"1" , 228
NFL PLAYER COMPARISON - LEVEON BELL - STEELERS
STRENGTHS - Great , tools , size, patience, and receiver for a RB. Every down back who can also be split out wide or play the slot . Could be an elite player in a zone heavy scheme, especially on stretch plays. Good burst and long speed. The rare shifty big back that can make you miss and run through tacklers. Good Pro Day . High ceiling and floor.
WEAKNESSES - He was only 18 & drunk when he punched that girl, and she did hit him first , he was suspended for the entire season , has been a solid citizen ever since, apologized , and payed her off, but you don't hit girls dude. Needs to hold onto the ball better. He looked fine in pass pro, but rarely stayed into block. Not sure how good his vision would be a pro style man gap scheme.

16.FORREST LAMP - OL - W. KENTUCKY - 6"4" , 305
NFL PLAYER COMPARISON - ZACK MARTIN - COWBOYS
STRENGTHS - 4 year starter & 2 year captain who played the blindside for all but 3 games , although I'm convinced he could play all 5 O-line positions . Technician with good timing, feet , balance , punch, and hand placement. Quick efficient pass set with a good anchor. Good awareness on stunts and blitzes. Plays low with good hip snap inline , and latches on inside well. High floor. Flashes a mean streak and plays to the whistle . Played great against both LSU last year and Alabama this year .
WEAKNESSES - Short arms mean most teams won't even try him at tackle. Lower level of competition. If he moves inside he will need to get stronger, unless it's a zone heavy scheme.

18.BUDDA BAKER - S - WASHINGTON - , 5"10" , 195
NFL PLAYER COMPARISON - TYRANN MATHIEU - CARDINALS
STRENGTHS - Hit the ground and running , started as a true freshman, and got better each of the next 2 years. Elite shirt area burst and good long speed. Not only can cover the slot, has  fluid hips & smooth backpedal , and  I believe he could be a starting corner in the NFL .High floor. Covers a lot of ground as a single high safety , with good instincts, and read and recognition skills. Big hitter for such a small guy . Always around the ball and tough as nails. Leader, winner, and high character and floor.
WEAKNESSES - Undersized , and gets posted up by bigger receivers sometimes. While he has the balls to play SS, I'm not sure he would hold up inside regularly in the box. Overaggressive tendencies cause him to miss some tackles, and he also gets too grabby on coverage.  Too many dropped picks.
