2013 FINAL NFL MOCK DRAFT-5 ROUNDS

IT HAS BEGUN! Finally the day is here and if your reading this you are as jacked about as I am.  Because a lot of possible high 1st round picks decided to stay in school, this draft is the weakest at the top in years. However, it ended up deep throughout thanks to a record number of underclassmen . With the new Collective Bargaining Agreement ("CBA") in place, expect to see draft picks being more valuable and teams willing to take more risk high up, because the financial risk isn't anywhere near as big as it used to be.

In this mock draft, next to each player is the NFL player we feel they will most resemble in their prime if they are a hit. The comp is for on the field play only and the higher they are ranked, the more likely we think they will reach that comparison. All the film has been watched, although a triple check will be in order now and again. Additionally, note that players' medical testing results, background checks, attitude with talent evaluators whom met in person, and how people with character issues came off to teams are all more important than anything that happened at the underwear Olympics or in pro days now. Barring an injury in training, a guy who showed up out of shape sets a bad precedent for his work ethic. A guy who was in shape at the combine, but then was suddenly going down hill is a sign of entitlement. Guys who were always lazy showing up in tip top shape are also a concern; like players who under-perfomed throughout their careers suddenly reaching their potential in a contract year, I just don't trust those guys!

* Is for a player with possible injury issues.

# Is for a player with possible character or off the field issues

1.KC-LUKE JOECKEL-OT-TEX A&M-NFL COMP-JOE THOMAS-CLEV- They reversed course and stuck the franchise tag on LT Brandon Albert. However, despite being a good right tackle and having a salary around 5 million, they cut Eric Winston. This pick is a good value and fills that need. The only question is if it's Joeckel or Fisher. We figure the long term level of competition Luke has played against is the tie breaker if you want a left tackle. Fisher has showed more in the pre-draft process and is better run blocker . Unlike Joeckel or Johnson, Fisher didn't play in a spread offense. You can see him coming out a 3 point stance on a regular basis and run blocking on a regular basis.  Since there has been talk of trading Albert we are thinking they want him on the right side. Joeckels the best left tackle in the draft right now so he's the pick. I still think their ideal scenario is trading back and taking whatever left tackle is left of the top 3. They won't get a RG3 type haul for a OT though , and it's unlikely they would even get Jimmy Johnson trade chart value either.  I expect the Chiefs to contend for a playoff spot this season no matter who they take.

2.JAX-SHARIFF FLOYD-DT/DE-FLA-NFL COMP-MUHAMMAD WILKERSON-JETS-Their DT play is just bad against the run or pass. Floyd improves both ,he is from Florida, and his motor could be infectious. They have Mincey and Babin on the outside now, and I doubt they have given up on Andre Branch(last years second round pick) already,so that should improve their outside pass rush . Now that he has been medically cleared Star Lotulelei could go here instead. They could also go for the elephant LB position bringing  Dion Jordan into the mix.

***TRADE-dolphins trade 1st round(#12), 2nd round(#42), 3rd round(#77)and 7th round(#217) picks this year for RAIDERS 1st rounder (#3) and 6th rounder(#176)***

3.MIA(oak)-ERIC FISHER-OT-C.MICH-NFL COMP-JOE STALEY-SF-The dolphins have a ton of cap room and they are spending it, but not on Jake Long. He has been injured for 2 years and not the same dominant force because of it. Long signed with the Rams leaving the dolphins with a big hole at LT. Last years second round pick Johnathan Martin didn't even play that well on the right side, and even though he profiles better on the left side we wouldn't want to trust our new franchise QB with the guy we saw on film last season.  Fisher would be better at both positions in my opinion. Miami has a lot of picks and even after the trade they still have a pick in every round. Their GM needs to win now so early on he needs to pick players that can help the team this year.

4.PHIL-STAR LOTULELEI-DT-UTAH-NFL COMP-HALOTI NGATA-BALT-PHIL-Isacc Sopoaga didn't play well at nose tackle in San Francisco last year, and we don't see why he would play better with a lesser squad. He looked like his old self at his pro day,and the new report from his Utah doctor claims his heart problems were due to dehydration and a virus.  He can not only play the nose but can also play the end in a 3-4 or either DT when they are in nickle. He gives them options to take the best players available at either position later in the draft. I am sure Chip Kelly vividly remembers Star wreaking havoc in the pac-12 against everyone he watched film of to scout for his squad.

5.DET-EZEKIAL ANSAH-DE-BYU-NFL COMP-JASON PIERRE-PAUL-NYG-Cliff Avril is a now a seahawk and Vandenbosch looks done and was released. Ziggy is the most gifted 4-3 DE in this class . With his frame ,versatility, and athleticism he could get bigger and be an elite player for a long time.He played all year (and did the combine) with a torn labrum at a high level ,and doctors have assured teams he should be healthy for the season . He had surgery as soon as the combine was over. CB is a big need  as well but their is a lot of corner depth in round 2 and 3 so think they pass on Milliner. We think this pick is a mistake and that they should take Jordan or trade back

***TRADE-CHARGERS trade 1rst(#11) and 2nd(#45) round picks  to the BROWNS for their 1rst(#6) and 3rd round pick next year***

6.SD(clev)-LANE JOHNSON-OT-OKLA-NFL COMP-NATE SOLDER-NE-RT-Another BAD O-line . 2 years ago the left side of their line was elite with Dielman and McNeil. 2 injury retirements later and Phillip Rivers is a wreck. This guy is an athlete. He started juco ball as a QB but kept growing. Then he was a TE and DE. Finally settled in as a RT as junior at OKLA, and LT as senior. Might be a small reach ,but this isn't a strong draft, He has more upside than Joeckel & Fisher, and they are desperate on the left side. Hopefully their new front office will nut up.

7.AZ-DION JORDAN-DE/OLB-ORE-NFL COMP-JEVON JEARSE-RET-GB- All three of Arizona's rush linebackers were below average last year. The best rusher of the 3 was Quentin Groves and he signed with Cleveland. With Carson Palmer being  a good fit for their offense QB is no longer a pressing need. With the top 3 OT's and corner off the board it's either edge rusher or guard in my opinion. Generally pass rusher is a more valuable position. Jordan is the most gifted edge rusher in this class right now. With his frame ,versatility, and athleticism he could get bigger and be an elite player for a long time.He played all year (and did the combine) with a torn labrum at a high level . He had surgery as soon as the combine was over and doctors have assured teams he should be healthy for the season .

***TRADE -RAMS trade 1rst round(#16),2nd round(#46) picks to BILLS for their 1rst round(#8) and 5th round pick(#143)

8.-STL(bills)-TAVON AUSTIN-WR-W.VA-NFL COMP-PERCY HARVIN-MINN-The rams have a lot of young WR talent. and claiming Titus Young and his attitude didn't help much. However Amendola was the only one with any polish and he is now a patriot. Austin is lightning in a bottle on the field and the drafts best playmaker. Running, catching, and returning are all in the toolbox. He is like a smaller ,saner, less whiny Harvin in my opinion. Sam Bradford cries joyous tears of relief and thanks god!

9.JETS-BARKEVIOUS MINGO-DE/OLB-LSU-NFL COMP-JASON TAYLOR-(ret)- Calvin Pace and Aaron Maybin are gone.  Mingo
is a freak athlete that someone might take even higher, and he has every skill a 3-4 rush backer could wish for. Watch for a possible trade back to replace their 4th round pick and gather more ammo to fill their depleted roster.

10.TENN-JOHNATHAN COOPER-G-N.CAR-NFL COMP-ANDY LEVITRE-TENN-None of the 3 guards who started for them played well last year, even future HOFer Steve Hutchinson. With this draft having so few players who are elite at their position, a guard in the top 10 won't shock us at all, and even 2 is an outside possibility  Trading down or going after a CB or edge rusher are also viable options but the since their head coach is a HOF guard he should realize how important good guard play is. The Titans already signed the best guard in free agency( Andy Levitre), and while both are a better fit on the left side, Cooper has added a lot of size since the season ended.

11.CLEV(sd)-GENO SMITH-QB-W.VA-NFL COMP-WARREN MOON-HOF RET- If Dee Milliner was healthy or maybe even Shariff Floyd was still here we believe they might have stayed at #6. Brandon Weeden probably deserves one more chance. However new GM Lombardi likes strong armed  passers ,and wasn't a big fan of Brandon Weeden before he took the job. Smith has a strong arm ,good accuracy when he's set, is clean off the field , is a great athlete,  and doesn't throw interceptions. Needs work on mechanics ,handling the blitz, pocket awareness, and being a more vocal leader right now. Also needs to add weight and learn a pro system, but he has the football IQ to do it. The trade back allows them to add a second round pick and still get the QB Mike Lombardi desperately wants. They would be better served trading into the bottom of round 1 and taking a QB there.

***TRADE-49ers Trade 1rst round(#31),and 2nd round (#34) for RAIDERS 1rst

round(#12)***

12.SF-(tb)KENNY VACCARO-S-TEX-NFL COMP-KERRY RHODES-AZ-Not a lot of needs with the 49ers, but this fills one. The way Flacco lit them up in the super bowl ,this is necessary. Vaccaro is a much better in coverage than the departing Dashon Goldson, and safety is their biggest need.  They have way too many picks in this draft ,with an already extremely talented roster, and need to spend them.   It's possible if one of the top 3 DT's falls that they could go in that direction, but this makes more sense.

13.JETS-(tb)-TYLER EIFERT-TE-N.DAME-NFL COMP-TONY GONZALEZ-ATL-#1 TE Dustin Keller signed with division rival Miami. #2 TE Jeff Cumberland is still a free agent. This a huge need and a good value. Eifert is one of the drafts safer players and should  improve every facet of their offense. The only reason we believe they pass on Milliner is because the pressure on a corner taken with the pick they traded Revis for would be ridiculous.

14.CAR-SHELDON RICHARDSON-DT-MOU-NFL COMP-CULLEN JENKINS-PHIL- Carolina's defense up the gut was bad last year in every way. Sheldon Richardson is the drafts best interior pass rusher right now , and the athleticism he shows making plays sliding along the line of scrimmage and penetrating would help a lot too.

***TRADE*** VIKINGS TRADE 1RST ROUND PICK(#25) and 2ND ROUND PICK(#52) FOR SAINTS 1RST ROUND PICK(#15)

15.MINN-*DeMARCUS MILLINER-CB-ALA-CHARLES TILLMAN-CHI-Despite having a great season last year CB Antoine Winfield was cut . It's probably a combination of him being undersized, 35 years old, having a high salary, and the beating he took in the Green Bay playoff game. Whatever the reason a infusion of youth is needed in the Vikings secondary. Milliner is the best corner in the draft and if not for some health concerns he would be long gone by now.

16.BUFF(stl)-RYAN NASSIB-QB-SYR-NFL COMP-STEVE McNAIR (ret)-Tavaris Jackson and Kevin Kolb don't seem like anything more than stopgaps to me, and they are not heavily invested in either. Since the Bills new coach from college needs a QB ,and his  former college QB is in this draft ,and already knows offense, we think they take him.  They already cut Ryan Fitzpatrick, and I can't think they go into the season with Tavaris Jackson or Kevin Kolb  as the franchise QB.  GM Buddy Nix has already stated they are going  to take a QB .Since he knows this offense Nassib is more valuable to this team than anyone other. ( ala Ryan Tannehill last year) His rookie year could shadow Tannehills in a similar situation. I would recommend they wait and trade back into the bottom of the first for EJ Manuel, but everyone knows they need a QB desperately, and the Jake Locker /Christian Ponder selections recently have set the reach precedent for QB's .

***TRADE-FALCONS Trade 1rst (#30) AND 2nd round(#60) AND 7th ROUND(#236) for STEELERS 1rst round(#18)***

17.ATL(pitt)-XAVIER RHODES-CB/S-FLA ST.-NFL COMP-NnAMDI ASOMUGHA-PHI- They need CB help badly. Dunta Robinson was cut and Brent Grimes signed with the Dolphins. Xavier ran well enough at the scouting combine ,although his other drills were a bit sketchy to me, but need will likely push him up draft boards either way . Rhodes has the kind of huge frame and aggression that could have him end up at safety when his speed goes or if he doesn't work out at corner.

18.DALL-CHANCE WARMACK-G-ALA-NFL COMP-JAHRI EVANS-NO-The right side of the Dallas O-line needs an upgrade. There are no tackles worth this pick left in this scenario,so how about a plug an play guard? Warmack is a beastly mauler that can bring toughness back to the interior of the Dallas line. I am sure Dallas fans are sick of seeing Tony Romo run for his life. This guy could help immediately and is a great value. Meanwhile Romo picks Chance up at the airport and promises to name his next child after him.

19.*NYG-DJ FLUKER-OT-ALA-NFL COMP-ANDRE WHITWORTH-CINC-GM Jerry Reese is known for taking the best player available, or guys with big upside a year before they have to play . Martellus Bennett is gone to the bears, so TE is a possibility.  Justin Tuck being brought back means DE is no longer as big a need. If Vaccaro falls he would be likely .DJ Fluker is the pick right now because he is worth the pick and a big upgrade at right tackle. Not only will he make Eli safer, but he can help put some push back in the giants run game.

20.CHI-CORDARELLE PATTERSON-WR-TENN-DEZ BRYANT-DALL- What the bears offense now lacks is explosion. Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte are both great players but neither is a great athlete like Patterson. If Marc Trestman can harness this elite talent opposite Marshall,  along with the recent addition of Martellus Bennett ,  Jay Cutler might become an elite QB.Patterson is the drafts most explosive outside receiver ,and if he can be can polish up his game ,he can be elite playmaker as both a receiver and returner.

21.CINC-#ALEC OGLETREE-LB-GA-NFL COMP-LAWRENCE TIMMONS-PITTS-Rey Maulaluga was bad in 2011 and much worse last year. It used to be he lacked quickness in coverage but he didn't even play the run well last year . They brought him back , but did it cheaply. Manny Lawson is gone now and Vontaze Burfict is a better fit in the middle . Ogletree could possibly play all 3 LB positions  and the Bengals have a history of taking talented players who fall due to character concerns. He has the talent to be a top 10 pick.

22.RAMS-(wash)-SYLVESTER WILLIAMS-DT-NC-NFL COMP-MARCELL DAREUS-BUFF-The Rams have done a solid job in free agency adding Jake Long and Jared Cook. In order to get good value at a position of need the best pick is clearly Williams. He can be paired inside with last years # 1 Michael Brockers, and really improve their interior pass rush and keep their LB's clean to run to the ball.

23.MINN-MANTI TEO-ILB-N.DAME-NFL COMP-STEPHEN TULLOCH-DET-A lot of the hoax stuff seems to have blown over now, NFL network draft analyst Mike Mayock has 2 other jobs that help make this pick. He is the Notre Dame football color analyst and the Minnesota Vikings color analyst.  I am sure GM Rick Speilman will pick Mayocks brain and get the good word on making this pick, just like he did with back to back Domer-to-Viking first rounders Kyle Rudolph and Harrison Smith. The vikings have a gaping hole at middle linebacker that he can fill .  A small town atmosphere like Minnesota that has a supportive loyal fan base would probably help Teo concentrate on football as well.

24.INDY-DESMOND TRUFANT-CB-NFL COMP-JASON McCOURTY-TENN-Vontae Davis cost them a 2nd round pick then missed about half the season. Whether they resign him or not  they still need another corner. If a good O-lineman  falls that should come first . Luck got hit consistently all season. They are a candidate to trade up for a lineman , or down to recoup their second round pick.

25.NO(minn)-
*JARVIS JONES-OLB/DE-GA-NFL COMP-CLAY MATHEWS-GB-- A lot of new players are needed for their move to a 3-4. Some of those holes have been filled in free agency and they did sign Victor Butler to compete at one OLB spot.  Jones has reportedly been told the spinal stenosis isn't a large worry and he really should go higher based on production.Jarvis also plays faster than he times after a 4.9 at his pro day  He has never been known as a workout warrior ,or even a guy that practices well. He is a guy who showed up big on game day in the SEC for 2 straight years.  Explosiveness and pass rush are his best assets. If he can start to work as hard at practice or in the weight room as he does on game day he can be the best in this draft.

26.GB-JONATHAN CYPRIEN-S-FIU-NFL COMP-RESHAD JONES-MIA-With the injury retirement of Nick Collins and the release of Charles Woodson the pack is short a safety. Cyprien is a very smart and aggressive player to pair up with Morgan Burnett . He is probably one of the players who has risen the most since the college season ended, and he is a safer pick than Elam or Ried..

27.HOU-*KEENAN ALLEN-WR-CAL-NFL COMP-JORDY NELSON-GB-Every year we think they are going to draft a reliable # 2 to go with (and take the coverage away from) Andre Johnson, and it never happens. This is the year, as Johnson is now past his prime as well.

Allen is the drafts most polished receiver and can be a # 1 when Johnson is done .Allen is also the best blocking WR in this draft and  can help the Texans continue their strong running game . Even though he is not fully healed yet Allen ran a 4.7 at his long delayed pro day. On tape he is faster and I am sure the Texans know that.

28.DEN-BJOERN WERNER-DE-FLA ST.-NFL COMP-DERRICK MORGAN-TENN.-. Werner reportedly has an injury that hasn't quite healed yet or he would be higher. The Elvis Dumervil snafu got worse when he signed with Baltimore.  The German can play either side and his motor is always on. If Denver signs Dwight Freeney or some other veteran edge rusher thats okay . Werner would still be an upgrade over Robert Ayers anyway.

***JAGUARS TRADE 2nd Round pick(#33)and 5th Round pick(#135) and 6th Round pick(#169) for PATRIOTS 1rst Round pick(#29) and 7th Round pick(#235)***

29.JAX-(ne)-
EJ MANUEL-QB-FLA-ST-NFL COMP-DONOVAN McNABB-(ret)-I wouldn't be surprised if Gabbert is cut or traded right after this pick.Even if he doesn't start this season it's OK. With a Kaepernick-like year to sit and learn , he could have a Kaepernick-like impact down the road. He needs mechanical work and time to learn to reach that potential.

30.PITT(atl)-DATONE JONES T-DE/DT-UCLA-NFL COMP-JUSTIN TUCK- Jones can play either side and even slide inside in passing situations. Trading back didn't hurt them much in this scenario. The versatile Jones can not only improve their pass rush as 3-4 end but he can also slide inside to DT on passing downs and wreak havoc.

31.OAK-(sf)-*MATT BARKLEY-QB-USC- NFL COMP-ANDY DALTON-CINC- FINALLY!  cries the entire Barkley family . The problem with being a west coast QB is that you don't fit every offense. OC Greg Olson has west coast roots. Yes, it's another USC QB, but unlike Palmer this one comes cheaply. I honestly think he could fall a long way if they don't take him. In this case that new 5 years of control rule strikes again .The raiders have more needs than any team in the draft and salary cap problems too. The trades back not only give them a lot of picks , it gives them a lot of inexpensive players. With Al Davis not around to muck it up this one draft with Reggie Mckenzie at the helm could go a long way toward returning the franchise to contention. They traded Carson Palmer and acquired Matt Flynn. Since they are in an absolute rebuilding year anyway that means they will pit Flynn vs Terrell Pryor vs Barkley this year, even though we don't see Pryor as a long term QB .Pryor is a Calvin Johnson type athlete and we expect them to eventually convert him to receiver, as he has never shown even an average football IQ.Barkley is a 4 year starter with a high football IQ and he is from Cali. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins the job in the preseason, and energizes the fan base.

32.BALT-JOHNTHAN BANKS-CB-MISS ST-NFL COMP-RICHARD SHERMAN-SEA-Best player available is a Ozzie Newsome mantra. Add that the Ravens lost Cary Williams in free agency, and that Banks is the big press corner they need and this pick makes a lot of sense.

2nd Round

33.NE(jax)-*DJ HAYDEN-CB-HOU-NFL COMP-CHAMP BAILEY-DENV-Had a freak injury at practice where he tore a major vein in his heart last season .Until recently no one was sure if he would ever play again, but now doctors have cleared him.. I think if he had played all year he would have been a easy 1rst rounder and maybe even the 2nd corner taken. Docs now say he should be ready for training camp. They could move McCourty back outside if they have another safety , but he did play well there. The Patriots go through more high drafted DB's than anyone in the league. Hayden was sure to rise up draft boards now that the Docs say he's OK.

34.OAK(sf,kc)-MENELIK WATSON-OT-FLA-ST.-NFL COMP-JASON PETERS-PHIL-Last years right tackles Kahlif Barnes and Willie Smith both showed they shouldn't be starters in the NFL. Personally I wouldn't take a guy with this little experience this high no matter how much potential he has, but we wouldn't be surprised if he went in the first round.

35.PHIL-MARGUS HUNT-DE-SMU -NFL COMP-CALAIS CAMPBELL-AZ-His talent and athleticism are undeniable. If he added 20-30 pounds he would still be quick, but 6"8" 277 and running a 4.6 forty is nuts. He has the frame to play end in Chip Kelly's new 3-4 defense, and Kelly craves big players with length. I don't think he's worth more than a mid 3rd round  pick right now. He may never be physical enough to play defense well, but I wouldn't be surprised if he went even higher based on his potential.

36.DET-JUSTIN PUGH-T/G-SYR-NFL COMP-ERIC WINSTON-KC- Former RT Gosder Cherilus signed with the colts and RG Stephen Peterman was cut, so the entire right side of the Lions O-line will be new this season.  They haven't signed anyone realistic to replace either. Justin can also play guard. and is a much better fit there.

37.CINC-ERIC REID-LSU-S-LSU-NFL COMP-KENNY PHILLIPS-PHI-- Reggie Nelson finally played like a first round pick last year, but he needs another safety who can make plays next to him.If you watch him play in 2011 Reid looks like a 1rst round pick. If you watch him play last season he looks like a 5th round pick. We would split the differencee. but we doubt anyone else will. The fact is until he becomes a better tackler I wouldn't want him as the last line of my defense.

38.AZ-KEVIN MINTER-ILB-LSU-NFL COMP-TAKEO SPIKES-SD-DESMOND BISHOP-Daryl Washington is suspended to start the season , Paris Lennon hasn't been brought back, and incoming Jaspar Brinkley was bad last year. Even when Washington returns Minter should be the starter next to him.

39.JETS-*EDDIE LACY-RB-ALA-NFL COMP-MARSHAWN LYNCH-SEA-. This is the kind of back that Rex Ryan needs to run a ground and pound offense. If Lacy was completely healthy this pick would be a lot more solid. Lacy finally had his pro day and didn't look that special. He may not have been fully in shape after having a limited time to train after his hamstring injury. No matter the reason,  any time a running back is too gassed to finish his workout I can't see him going in the 1rst round. Although I still think he is the best back in this draft on tape .

40.TENN-JUSTIN HUNTER-WR-TENN-NFL COMP-SIDNEY RICE-SEA-Kenny Britt has a #1 WR's talent, but due to the law and injuries, he hasn't shown he can be counted on long term. All the other receivers they have are complimentary or slot guys.  Hunter has a much better chance to be a reliable # 1 for Jake Locker or the next guy. Hunter was considered a possible top 10 pick off the 2011 seasons tape before injuries hit him. He finally looked like the old Justin at the combine and he's from Tennessee .

41.BUFF-ZACH ERTZ-TE-STAN -NFL COMP-TODD HEAP-AZ-A good TE is a young QB's best friend.  Last years starter Scott Chandler tore his ACL at the end of the season, and may not even be brought back. Ertz is far and away the best route runner of  all the tight ends in this draft  and would give their young QB a reliable safety valve.

42.OAK(mia)-AURTHUR BROWN-LB-KAN ST-NFL COMP-JON BEASON-CAR-The Rolando McClain saga is just about done, and Phillip Wheeler also went to the dolphins .None of the cheap vets they have signed except for the aged Kevin Burnett have ever been a quality starter. Brown will be the new QB of the defense and will likely provide good play on the field without the drama off of it.

43.TB-SAM MONTGOMERY-DE/OLB-LSU-NFL COMP-ANTHONY SPENCER-Michael Bennett signed with Seattle, and Bowers has health and jail concerns. Clayborn is also a injury concern.. It would be wise of the Bucs to make sure they not only get a DE in this draft, but that they have one who can play both sides.

44.CAR-DEANDRE HOPKINS-WR-CLEM-NFL COMP-PIERRE GARCON-WASH--Steve Smith is the only reliable receiver on the Panther roster, is  near the end ,and is a small guy to boot. Hopkins gives Cam Newton a steady #2 WR (and possible future #1 receiver) who will be where he is supposed to be, and catch it when it's thrown near him.

45.CLEV(sd)-LARRY WARFORD-G-KY-BOBBY WILLIAMS -BALT-Guard play is the weakness on the Browns O-line. Having spent high 1rst round picks on a RB and now a QB in back to back years it would be smart to give them some help. Warford is a  prototype mauling right guard who would get a push in the run game and help keep the pocket clean for Geno.

46.BUFF-TANK CARRADINE-DE/OLB-FLA.ST.-NFL COMP-SIMEON RICE(ret)-Mark Anderson was hurt a lot last season and someone needs to be waiting in the wings  at DE.If Cornelius "Tank" Carradine checks out medically before the draft , at least enough that teams believe he would be the same player he was pre-injury at the start of the season, he will go in the 1rst  round .So far he has ran a mid 4.7 to-4.9 depending on which report you believe and he isn't anywhere near full health yet.  Until we know more we are guessing he starts the season on the PUP list and only plays half a season at best.

47.DALL-DJ SWEARINGER-S-S.CAR-NFL COMP-TJ WARD-CLEV- Gerald Sensabaugh was nothing special at either safety spot and was just cut. Barry Church is coming off major surgery , even though he did play well before being hurt last season. Last years 4th rounder Matt Johnson couldn't stay healthy. DJ has a very good chance to start as a rookie. He is also probably one of the more underrated players in the draft.

48.PITT-JESSIE WILLIAMS-DT-ALA-NFL COMP-VINCE WILFORK-NE-Nose tackle Casey Hampton is 36 years old and hasn't been resigned. Last  years 4th round pick Alameda Ta'amu is likely facing a suspension for his DUI rampage.Williams is big, strong, and raw .The Australian import hasn't been playing football that long, but he plays the run like a NFL NT right now. He is so athletic that he lines up at FB for Alabama as well. With some refinement on his pass rush moves he can be a 3 down player.

49.NYG-ROBERT WOODS-WR-USC-NFL COMPO-REGGIE WAYNE-INDY-If any restricted free agent was going to be signed away for a 1rst round pick it's Victor Cruz , but I suspect collusion and it didn't happen. Even if he stays around this year we doubt they have the money to keep both Nicks and Cruz next season. With outside WR's being more valuable we think that means Cruz is gone next season. Woods can play inside or outside and he does everything well. Jerry Reese also like value and Woods is a good one this late.

50.CHI-SIO MOORE-LB-UCONN-NFL COMP-JEROD MAYO-NE-Urlacher and Briggs are long in the tooth, and Urlacher was just let go for good . If Warford falls this far he is a possibility, but Moore's versatility makes this more likely.  Moore can play whatever LB position they need him at, but is a better fit on the weak side . Although DJ Williams and James Anderson have signed with the bears now its probably unrealistic to expect more than one of them to work out .

51.WASH-TENN-MATT ELAM-S-FLA-NFL COMP-QUINTIN MIKELL-STL-The top 3 safeties on the Redskin roster were a study in mediocrity at best. Brandon Merriweather is coming back from injury and we don't know how he will play after that. Madieu Williams was the best of the bunch and he is an unsigned free agent right now.  Elam is a very smart and aggressive player who can fill the role of intimidator in the secondary.

52.NO-TERRON ARMSTEAD-OT-ARK.PB-NFL COMP-TYRON SMITH-DALL-Jermon Bushrod was just a decent left tackle but he got paid by the bears and now the saints have nothing but question marks at left tackle. As of now it's a competition between two draft bust in Charles Brown and Jason Smith. Armstead is the raw elite athlete who took the combine by storm. The fact that he also showed good play on the field on tape, then at the east/west game, and even held his own at the senior bowl makes me believe he could go even higher. He looks and moves like a giant TE. With a year or 2 in an NFL weight room and with NFL coaching he could easily be a Pro Bowler. He is perfect fit in a zone scheme .

53.CINC-*GEOVANI BERNARD-RB-N.CAR-NFL COMP-CJ SPILLER-BUFF- Bernard is a speedy playmaker that can help open up the offense. The Lawfirm of BJGE is more of a inside grinder, but he's not much of a threat to bust a long one, or help out much in the passing game. Bernard gives them what Green Ellis doesn't.

54.MIA-(indy)-JAMAR TAYLOR-CB-BOISE ST-NFL COMP-TRAMON WILIAMS-GB-Sean Smith signed with the Chiefs and Bryan McCann signed with Arizona. The fins brought in Brent Grimes but no one knows if he will be the same player coming off injury. Taylor has the confidence of a # 1 corner and he could team with Grimes to form a formidable duo.

55.GB-MONTEE BALL-RB-ORE-NFL COMP-PIERRE THOMAS-NO-The packs running game has been atrocious for years. Ball has the pass protection and receiving chops to fit right in the hybrid west coast/spread offense that the pack runs. After a sub par combine he had a lot of improvement at his pro day.Throw in the Wisconsin ties and he's a natural fit.

56.SEA-KAWANN SHORT-DT-PURDUE-NFL COMP-ANTONIO GARAY-SD-The Seahawks lost Alan Branch to the bills. Short is very talented but he needs to go all out on every play. I wouldn't be surprised if he went much higher. Maybe in a rotation where he is primarily in on passing downs that motor can run consistently hotter, or maybe Pete Carrol can actually help him reach his potential.

57.HOU-DAVID QUISENBERRY-T/G-SJSU-NFL COMP-HARVEY DAHL-RAMS-Right tackle is one of the few areas of weakness on this roster. With  some NFL coaching and a year in the weight room he could easily be a starter at almost every O-line position , and can even be short term fill in at center.

58.DENV-BLIDI WREH-WILSON-CB/S-UCONN-  NFL COMP-TERREL THOMAS-NYG- .Champ Bailey is still a good player despite his last game, but he will also be 35 next season. This corner played well in the senior bowl and tested well at the combine. He can also provide value in the return game and who better to learn from than the champ?

59.NE-TERRANCE WILLIAMS-WR-BAY-NFL COMP-STEVE JOHNSON-BUFF-A outside WR is the patriots chief need, and Brandon Lloyd was just cut. Williams is reliable, smart, runs good routes, has good hands, is a solid citizen, and can stretch the field. Sounds like a Belichick guy. It might also help mend some fences with Brady since they screwed the pooch and let Welker leave. Danny Amendola has never shown the ability to stay healthy, which makes a need to appease Brady even more likely.

60.PITT(atl)-
AARON DOBSON-WR-MAR-NFL COMP-MICHAEL CRABTREE-SF-Not only have they lost Mike Wallace, but they barely held onto Emmanuel Sanders and I doubt they can afford him after this season  .Plaxico is back now, but he is mostly just a red zone target these days . Dobson is a tough receiver with good hands, and he can even block. He's exactly what they need now that Hines Ward is 2 years gone.

61.SF-JHONATHON HANKINS-DT-OH ST.-NFL COMP-KEVIN WILLIAMS-MINN-The 49ers need a new nose tackle to replace Isacc Sopoaga and infuse some youth into their D-Line. Justin Smith and Ray Mcdonald can set a great example for this giant, and hopefully inspire him to get in better shape . It wasn't that long ago when Hankins was considered an easy top 15 pick. This trade helps the niners get what they want now, thins out some picks in this draft where they have too many, and gives them an extra pick in next years draft.

62.BALT-DAMONTRE MOORE-DE/OLB-TEX A&M-NFL COMP-JOHN ABRAHAM-ATL-GM Ozzie Newsome always finds a way to get value. Courtney Upshaw is a solid guy but will never be a top tier pass rusher. Terrell Suggs is still a good player, but lacks explosion due to age & his repaired Achilles . Moores pre-draft drop will stump the one Suggs had, I am sure Ozzie is hoping Moore has a similar success story. Moore has talent, but looked lazy and out of shape at the combine. Like he hadn't been training for it. Add that he didn't do very well last season when being blocked by top OT's, and the fall was bound to happen. He did 19 reps on the bench at his pro day , but got hurt and didn't run his forty again yet. Even with everything that's gone wrong I think he goes before the end of round 2.The Elvis Dumervil signing won't stop Ozzie from taking the best player available.

3rd Round

***TRADE 49ers trade 3rd round pick(#74) and 4th round(#128) and 7th round(#222) to CHIEFS for 3rd round(#63)

63.SF(kc)-*BARRET JONES-C/G/T/-ALA-NFL COMP-MAX UNGER-SEA
- Every starter on their dominant offensive line is under 28 except center Johnathan Goodwin (34) . The highly decorated Barrett is not only a center he can also play every other position on the O-line if it's needed. He comes from a winning program to a team that is a Superbowl favorite. Natural fit. The 49ers wisely continue to use their wealth of draft picks to control the draft and get players that can help their already talented roster make a Superbowl run this season.

64.JAX-DAVID AMERSON-S/CB-N.-CAR ST.-ANTONIO CROMARTIE-JETS-The Jaguars let go of long time corner Rashean Mathis recently. New coach Gus Bradley made his bones in Seattle with big ,physical, press corners. The Jags need help at safety and CB. They also prefer big CB's which Amerson certainly is. If you watch his 2011 tape he's a top 10 pick as a corner. After spending this year trying to jump routes to break the interception record I am not sure what he is now. Last season he looked like a safety. This late someone will think he's worth the risk ,and might be able to help you at both positions. He lit up the combine so don't be surprised if he goes higher.

65.DET-QUINTON PATTON-LA.TECH-NFL COMP-RODDY WHITE-ATL--It seems no one who plays across from Calvin Jonson produces much or for very long. Roy Williams, Nate Burleson, Titus Young, Ryan Broyles, ...etc. I thought Broyles was the perfect guy but he blew his knee out again. Patton is  smart, can catch, and will go after the ball. Patton is also a great route runner and can even block some . Matthew Stafford will always be able to count on him running the right route, unlike Titus Young. When Broyles ,makes it back they will be even better.

66.OAK-#KYLE LONG-G-IOWA-NFL COMP-CLINT BOLING-CINC-This son of raider legend Howie Long is a legacy pick. He's nowhere near the finished product that Steve Wisniewski was, but he has even better potential long term . Still not sure if he is better fit inside or outside long term, but he is definitely a better fit inside right now.

67.PHIL-DAVID BAKHTIARI-OT-COL-NFL COMP-JORDAN GROSS-CAR-A massive amount of O-line injuries wrecked their season last year. Jason Peters will be back at left tackle and they can move Hereman back inside if they can get someone else on the outside.. Right Tackle is a primary position when you have a left handed QB like Michael Vick. Bakhtiari has the agility, stamina,  and skill level to be a perfect fit in this fast paced scheme.

68.CLEV-#*TRAVIS KELCE-TE-CINC-NFL COMP-JASON WITTEN-DALL- If Kelce was clean off the field ,and had 2 years of solid production on tape instead of one ,he would easily be the first TE off the board. Kelce is an excellent athlete and a strong blocker with a ton of questions that need answering. A good TE is a QB's best friend and Norv Turner has always used tight ends a lot in his offense. The Browns need a TE who can block in their new Trent Richardson featured offense.. Newly signed Kellen Davis has always been a "looks likes Tarzan plays like Jane "guy in my book, so an upgrade is in order.

69.AZ-GAVIN ESCOBAR-TE-SD ST-NFL COMP-JIMMY GRAHAM-NO-. I'm sure Carson Palmer would appreciate a good TE.  A real receiving threat at TE has been lacking for a long time in AZ. He would draw attention away from Fitzgerald and help stretch the field vertically the way Bruce Arians likes.

70.TENN-*VANCE McDONALD-TE-RICE-NFL COMP-ZACH MILLER-SEA-The loss of Jared Cook was partially blunted by the signing of Delanie Walker, but Walker is nowhere near the receiving threat that the Titans need. McDdonald has displayed all the qualities of a two way tight end , and we think his best football is still ahead of him. The run on tight ends chills now.

71.BUFF-TRAVIS FREDERICK-C/G-WISC-NFL COMP-JAKE GROVE-(ret)-The Bills  needs another guard to replace the departing Andy Levitre, who was not only their best overall lineman, but also a versatile iron man along the Bills O-line. Frederick can start out at guard but if Eric Wood goes down at center again he can slide right over.

72.JETS-ROBERT ALFORD-CB-SE.LA-NFL COMP-LADARIUS WEBB-BALT-With Revis gone the jets need another corner. The small school Alford has elite speed and can also help in the return game. He's not a healthy Revis, but to  be fair no one is.

73.TB-LOGAN RYAN-CB-RUTG-NFL COMP-RONDE BARBER-TB-Even with a trade for Revis the bucs will need another corner with the loss of EJ Biggers. Since Greg Sciano coached Ryan at Rutgers he will definitely appreciate the hard nosed playing style Logan has.

74.KC(sf)(car)-MARKUS WHEATON-WR-ORE.ST-NFL COMP-STEVE SMITH-CAR-A deep threat and slot guy to go with the just resigned Dwayne Bowe . Steve Breaston was cut too, so a WR is must. He can also provide excellence in the return game. Andy Reid will want a WR that can stretch the field. The trade back allows Andy Reid to gather more guys that fit his system.

75.NO-*PHILLIP THOMAS-FRES.ST-NFL COMP-HARRISON SMITH-MINN-The saints forfeit of their second round pick came at a really bad time. Their secondary was atrocious last season. At least they upgraded the corner position with Keenan Lewis .  Rob Ryans complicated scheme especially requires smart safety's that can cover.  Thomas is a ball hawk and if he falls this far it's a steal.

76.SD-ANDRE ELLINGTON-RB-CLEM-NFL COMP-LESEAN McCOY-PHI-Former 1rst rounder Ryan Mathews has not lived up to expectations. His inability to stay healthy and hold onto the ball means this is probably his last chance in San Diego. Another back is needed and Ellington is more of a home run hitter than Mathews. He is also an asset in the passing game.

77.OAK(mia)-BENNIE LOGAN-DT-LSU-NFL COMP-JURELL CASEY-TENN-Pass rush is a weakness especially on the outside where they have some DT size guys coming off the edge, but Kelly and Seymour are both gone and that makes DT their chief priority now. Logan has the ability to start as a rookie and anchor the inside for the raiders.

78.STL-LE'VEON BELL-RB-MICH ST-NFL COMP-MICHAEL BUSH-CHI- Steven Jackson opted out of his deal and his career as a Ram is over. With him joining  Atlanta to play for a contender the rams need a every-down back.  Bell has similar size to Jackson , and is also excellent in the passing game both as a blocker and receiver.

79.PITT
-
COREY LEMONIER-DE-OLB-AUB-NFL COMP-ANDRE CARTER-OAK-James Harrison is 34 , had a big salary,  had been injured a lot recently, and was cut. Lamar Woodley wasn't too hot last year either.Lemonier has the kind of frame and athletic ability that is ideal for a 3-4 OLB. Even if Lemonier doesn't beat out Jason Worilds this season he can at least be a situational pass rusher and help out on special teams as a rookie.

80.DALL-BRYAN SCHWENKE-C/G-CAL-NFL COMP-WILL MONTGOMERY-WASH-Phil Costa re-singed  but he hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy. The ultra quick and technically sound Schwenke can also play guard and team with Warmack to actually make their interior line strong for years to come.

81.NYGDARIUS SLAY-CB-MISS ST-NFL COMP-DOMINIQUE RODGERS-CROMARTIE -DENV -The giants lose defensive backs like a little kid with marbles. Almost every DB on the NYG roster is coming off injury, a possible cap casualty, is in some state of free agency, or some combination thereof. Both Terrell Thomas and Corey Webster took pay cuts to stay but with their injury history's the G-men still need more corners. He has elite speed and fluidity but his tackling and football IQ knock him back to the late 2nd-early 3rd range of the draft.

82.MIA(chi)-AKEEM SPENCE-DT-ILL-NFL COMP-KYLE WILLIAMS-BUFF-Randy Starks got the franchise tag, but there has been no chatter about a long term deal coming anytime soon. Spence is a stout and angry player against the run . Akeem also has a strong bull rush in the passing game ,but he could use more pass rush moves.

83.MINN-BRANDON WILLIAMS-DT-MOU-S-ST-NFL COMP-JOSH PRICE-BRENT-DALL- Perennial pro bowler Kevin Williams is over 30 now and its starting to show. He is still good but might not be worth his high salary for long. While Williams not a great pass rusher he is stout against the run and can push the pocket against the pass. After his strong senior bowl we went searching for everything we could find on the small school standout, and were impressed by him on film.

84.CINC-MIKE CATAPANO-DE-PRINC-NFL COMP-OSI UMENYIORA-NYG- -Michael Johnson is on the franchise tag and there has been little progress reported on a long term deal . Add that Carlos Dunlap will be a free agent next year and it's prudent that the Bengals protect themselves. Catapano has the frame to play either side and the raw athleticism anyone would like. He went to Princeton so were are going to assume he has the brains too. He is a raw talent from a small football school, but every time we watch him on tape he is causing a ruckus.

85.WASH-BW WEBB-CB.WILL&MARY-NFL COMP-TRAMON WILIAMS-GB- It's hard to see Deangelo Hall and EJ biggers causing the Redskins to feel confident to start the season at corner. Webb is from nearby William & Mary , he can play the slot, and can also help in the return game.

86.INDY-JOHNATHAN FRANKLIN-RB-UCLA-NFL COMP-AHMAD BRADSHAW-NYG-Both Donald Brown and Vick Ballard are better fits as a backup. Franklin is used tp being the lead dog, and he also excels in the passing game. He should really go a lot higher but we doubt he will.

87.SEA-BUFF-BRIAN WINTERS-G/T-KENT ST-NFL COMP-LOGAN MANKINS-NE-Other than left LT Russell Okung and C Max Unger Seattle no one on the Seahawk line played very well last season . Winters can play both tackle & guard and he's a angry run blocker with a nasty edge to his game that will fit right in.

88.GB-JOHN JENKINS-DT-GA-NFL COMP-JAMALL WILLIAMS-(ret)- To run the 3-4 you need a NT and they don't have a good one, because Raji usually plays end for some reason .The huge Jenkins is surprisingly quick for his girth , although he will need to maintain his current weight loss to reach his potential. This guy is big, strong, and  fits the bill . He has the talent to go a lot higher but his inconsistent effort makes this a legit possibility. With more effort he could be a 3 down NT, and if he stays under 340 he can also play some  end.He has dropped close to 40 pounds since the season ended, but unless he is willing to put a weight clause in his contract this is as high as we would take him.

89.HOU-KEVIN REDDICK-ILB-NC-NFL COMP-DESMOND BISHOP-GB-When Brian Cushing was lost their defense was greatly reduced. They need another guy who can QB the middle of the defense if Cushing isn't ready ,or goes down again. Reddick has the toughness and football IQ to play inside in either front.

90.DENV-JJ WILCOX-S/CB-GA.STH-NFL COMP-DEVIN McCOURTY-NE-Both starting safety's had decent seasons and a really bad playoff game. Mike Adams is especially vulnerable in coverage. Wilcox has safety size and toughness to go along with corner feet. He can play both positions.

91.NE-STEDMAN BAILEY-WR-W.VA-NFL COMP-ANTONIO BROWN-PITT- Bailey always finds a way to get open and could be their future slot WR once Amendiola gets hurt again. Brady will love this guy and Bellichick has history of doubling up on a position of need  in the draft.

92.ATL-*BRENNAN WILLIAMS-OT-NC-NFL COMP-DONALD PENN-TB-LT Sam Baker was resigned , but he is injury prone and inconsistent .Then they cut a more consistent iron man in RT Tyson Clabo. As is he can be a stopgap at right tackle while he grows stronger and more technical .With a year in a NFL weight room and NFL  good coaching I could see Williams as a long term building block on the falcons O-line at RT.

93.SF-*MARCUS LATTIMORE-RB-S. CAR-FRED JACKSON-BUFF-Frank Gore is past 30 and has overcome multiple knee injuries. With so many picks in this draft( and so few roster spots available for this season )the niners have the luxury to use some of their picks for the future. Lattimore would have easily been the first RB taken if not for a knee injury. Whether he starts the season on the Pup list and comes back mid season, or misses the season entirely I wouldn't bet against him long term. He plays like he loves the game and is a 3 down back.

94.BALT-KHASEEM GREENE-OLB-RUTG-NFL COMP-THOMAS DAVIS-CAR- The Ravens didn't have one linebacker play even average against the pass last season . Greene can not only cover but he is a sideline to sideline player from the weak side. At the very least he is their nickle linebacker and a special teams contributor as a rookie.

95.HOU-(Compensatory)-JAMIE COLLINS-OLB-S.MISS-NFL COMP-BRIAN ORAPKO  WASH -The loss of Connor Barwin makes this pick likely if the Texans want to keep up the pass rush that makes this defense work. The highly athletic Collins best position is as a rush linebacker and I am sure Wade Phillips will have a use for him.

96.KC-(Compensatory)-*#KIKO ALONSO-LB-ORE-NFL COMP-KARLOS DANSBY-MIA- Their has never been a really good player next to Derick Johnson  on the inside of the chiefs 3-4.  Alonso's character and injury history are the only reason he falls this far, and if he can stay on the field he could slide over when Johnson is past it. He should at least be an upgrade over Jovan Belcher, and comp picks are the best ones to take chances with.

97.TENN-(Compensatory)-TYRANN MATHIEU-CB/S-LSU-NFL COMP-DANIEL MANNING-HOU-The titans starting corners played well last year but in the slot Ryan Mouton and Coty Sensabaugh didn't get the job done. Webb profiles best as  a slot corner and return man. Since the Honeybadger now says he does care about football , and he does have a  penchant for making plays in big games, someones going to take him by the end of third.Again-compensatory picks are always the best ones to take chances with.

4th Round

98.JAX-MIKE GILLISLEE-RB-FLA-NFL COMP-BEN TATE-HOU- After a season largely without MJD a stronger backup is needed. Gillislee has big play ability and he played college ball right down the road at Florida.

99.KC-*#CHRISTINE MICHAEL-RB-TEX A&M-NFL COMP-RYAN MATHEWS-SD-The chiefs are basically Jamall Charles or bust right now at RB. Michael is a 1rst round talent who's character baggage and injury history knock him way down draft boards. This late he is well worth the risk

100.OAK-CORNELIUS WASHINGTON-LB/DE-GA-NFL COMP-JUSTIN HOUSTON-KC-Washington has all the talent you can want and the raiders need edge rushers. He also has the size and the ability to play in a odd or even front. The raiders have to get a better pass rush to be even remotely respectable this season.

101.PHIL-KENJON BARNER-RB-ORE-NFL COMP-LEON WASHINGTON-SEA- Chip Kelly knows him better than anyone. Barner is a jitterbug back that can help in the run, pass, and special teams part of the game.

102.MINN(det)-DALLAS THOMAS-G/T-TENN-NFL COMP-TODD HEREMANS-PHIL-guard play was the only weakness on the viking line during Adrian's awesome season. Thomas can play both guard and tackle and he did it at a pretty high level in the SEC.

103.AZ-#JORDAN POYER-CB-ORE ST. -NFL COMP-CORTLAND FINNEGAN-RAMS-Its best player available time for the Cards, Poyer can join Peterson and Cason in the Cardinal secondary and may even beat out Cason for a starting spot.

104.CLEV-SANDERS CUMMINGS-CB-GA-NFL COMP-PATRICK PETERSON-Sheldon Brown is 34 and hasn't been resigned.  We do believe Mike Lombardi wants a big corner to pair with Joe Haden . It needs to be a physical attacking press corner in new Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton's defense. Cummings tackles well, which is a prerequisite in the black &  blue AFC north , and if not for off the field stuff he would be long gone.

105.BUFF-#KENNY STILLS-WR-OKLA-NFL COMP-JEREMY MACLIN-PHIL--The Bills have been looking for a receiver to pair with Steve Johnson. Candidates to fill the role are lacking with last years 2nd leading wide receiver Donald Jones signing with rival New England. Stills is a cocky play maker who plays with a chip on his shoulder, just like Johnson.

106.NYJ-SHAMARKO THOMAS-S-SYR-NFL COMP-BOB SANDERS-(ret)-The jets have lost Laron landry, Yeremiah Bell , and Eric Smith. They did sign Dawan Landry, but that still leaves them light at safety or 2.Thomas hits like a truck and is big time athlete , but if he were 4 inches taller he would probably be in contention to be the second safety drafted.

107.TENN-MIKE GLENNON-QB-NC ST.-NFL COMP-DREW BLEDSOE-RET- Jake locker is about to get his last chance with the Titans. While Locker is a great athlete who needs to work on his passing Glennon is the exact opposite. They both have strong arms though.

108.CAR-THAROLD SIMON-CB-LSU-NFL COMP-SEAN SMITH-MIA-  After last years injury Chris Gamble was cut and retired. The Panthers could use an upgrade at corner anyway and probably at safety as well. Simon is safety size and plays corner.

109.NO-DWAYNE GRATZ-CB-UCONN-NFL COMP-NATE CLEMENTS-CINC-Even with the addition of Keenan Lewis the Saints will need help at corner . Gratz is a better athlete than football player right now, but the size and potential are there.

110.SD-DA'RICK ROGERS-WR-TENN-NFL COMP-BRANDON MARSHALL-CHI-Phillip Rivers used to have reliable receivers and a reliable O-line and this drafts main goal should be restoring both. Roigers can give Rivers the dependable big  receiver he needs to return to form. Off the field problems in droves have dropped Rogers. The honeybadger is cleaner. He's also a fierce strong handed receiver and a first round talent, but we wouldn't take him before the 4th round.

111.MIA-DEVIN TAYLOR-DE-S.CAR-NFL COMP-JASON HATCHER-DALL-Someone needs to play on the other side of Cameron Wake . Oliver Vernon gets first crack, but even if he is the guy the fins need another end. Taylor has been overshadowed by Jadavian Clowney in college, but has the frame & talent to be a stud in his own right. He can stay at his current size if they go 4-3, or bulk up to play 3-4 end with his frame.

112.TB-*#DION SIMS-TE-MICH ST-NFL COMP-ALGEA CRUMPLER-(ret)-Dallas Clark is well past his prime ,and without that consistent mid field target that Kellen Winslow had once been, Josh Freeman backslid last season. Sims has the talent of a 2nd round pick but his criminal past knocks him back to the 4th round.

113.STL-#BACARRI RAMBO-S-GA-FL COMP-LARON LANDRY-NYJ-The rams still need a safety and Rambo would be gone by now if not for his off the field troubles .

114.DALL-*KNILE DAVIS-RB-ARK-NFL COMP-DARREN McFADDEN-OAK- DeMarco Murray's health is always in question . Davis is a 1rst round talent who's injury history and ball security issues knock him down this late. Plus Jerry Jones has a thing for RB's from his Alma mater.

115.PITT-#DUKE WILLIAMS-S-NEV-NFL COMP-MICHEAL HUFF-OAK-Both starting safety's are now over 30 and Polamalu is usually hurt. Williams is an elite talent who needs polish and to keep his nose clean. Pittsburgh might be just the place for him.

116.NYG-ALEX OKAFOR-DE/OLB-TEX-NFL COMP-MARK ANDERON-BUFF--GM Jerry Reese is known for taking the best player available, or guys with big upside , and in this case it fits a need. The Osi and Tuck era has come to an end,and even though they kept Tuck he was not even close to being the guy who dominated 2 superbowls last year. Pass rush was the main reason they won 2 superbowls in 4 years and I am sure they know it. The giants like to draft the best player available, get value, and draft a year ahead . This accomplishes all three .

117.CHI-#HUGH THORNTON-G-ILL-NFL COMP-JUSTIN BLAYLOCK-ATL- This local college left tackle will probably need to be a guard in the pros. He has the maulers mentality , but might need time to pick up the offense.

118.CINC-*RYAN SWOPE-WR-TEX A&M-NFL COMP-BRIAN HARTLINE-MIA-Johnny Footballs favorite receiver blew up the combine this year and he was talked up as a second rounder back then. However his history of concussions means he falls to the 4th round.

119.WASH-*CHRIS FAULK-OT-LSU-NFL COMP-ANTHONY DAVIS-SF-RT has been a weakness for Washington ever since they traded for Jamall Brown. He immediately showed why the saints were willing to let the former Pro Bowler go ,and has been regularly hurt since then. Faulk looked like a possible 1rst rounder pre-injury. The recently cut Eric Winston would be the ideal pickup for them, and they could go a different way here, but the cap penalty the league stuck them with makes that unlikely.

120.MINN-TYLER WILSON-QB-ARK-NFL COMP-TONY ROMO-DALL-This is a make or break year for Christian Ponder. Considering how much money they had to pay Matt Casell to be his backup it's safe to say the front office isn't sold on him.Wilson had an an down college career but eit better talent around him he could be  steal.

121.INDY-TREVARDO WILLIAMS-UCONN-OLB/DE-NFL COMP-ELVIS DUMERVIL-DENV-Robert Mathis is over 30 , has a high salary, and wasn't as productive as he was in years past after the move to outside LB. Dwight Freeney is gone and Jerry Hughes has yet to live up to his 1rst round billing.

122.GB-MATT SCOTT-QB-AZ-NFL COMP-JAKE PLUMMER-(ret)-The packers just love drafting and developing QB's. Scott is the kind of strong armed athletic QB that the pack can develop and trade down the line.

123.SEA-*QUANTERAS SMITH-DE-W KY-NFL COMP-SIMEON RICE-(ret)-Newly signed outside rushers Cliff Avril(2 years) and Michael Bennett (1 year) aren't signed long term. Chris Clemons is 11 years in and coming of a major injury.  Smith has a frame and skill set similar to Dion Jordan . If not for his torn ACL he would be a possible 1rst rounder. He could have a future as a DE or elephant LB in this defense.

124.HOU-STEPHON TAYLOR-RB-STAN-NFL COMP-DOUG MARTIN-TB-Arian Foster has lot of carries the last 3 seasons and Ben Tate will be a free agent next season. Taylor may not be a workout warrior but he gets the job done on the field and is great in pass pro.

125.DENV-JON BOSTIC-LB-FLA-NFL COMP-CURTIS LOFTON-NO- DJ Williams is in his 30's ,was suspended twice last season ,and is now gone. Bostic has the toughness and football IQ to QB this defense. Denver has no MLB left on the roster .

126.TB(ne)-DEVONTE HOLLOMAN-LB-S.CAR-NFL COMP-NICK BARNETT-BUFF- The bucs need an upgrade at strongside LBHolloman has the speed and agility to at least help out in nickle and on special teams as a rookie. He also could possibly play all 3 LB positions.

127.ATL-JOHN SIMON-DE/OLB-OH ST-NFL COMP-DARYL TAPP-PHIL- Recently cut John Abraham is 34 on the weak side and Kroy Bierman is nothing special on the strong-side . Osi Umenyora has been signed but he really should only be a situational pass rusher these days, and he doesn't  play the run well. There are rumors Abraham might be brought back at a lower price, but they still would need help outside because neither of them can play the strong-side .

128.KC(sf)-ZAC DYSERT-QB-MIA(oh)-NFL COMP-MATT HASSLEBECK-SEA-Andy Reid loves drafting talented QB's and training them up. Dysert could be the heir to Alex Smith or the next in a long line of guys who Reid trades for a big profit.

129.BALT-ALVIN BAILEY-G-ARK-NFL COMP-JUSTIN BLAYLOCK-ATL-Marshal Yanda is the only guard on their roster that we know for sure is playing guard next year. With some technique improvements and a little consistency Bailey is a long term starter at guard.

130.BALT-(Compensatory)-CHRIS HARPER-WR-KAN.ST-NFL COMP-ANQUAN BOLDIN-SF- The loss of the kind of toughness Anquan Boldin brings is hard to replace. Harper is a similar player and might help take the edge off his loss.

131.SF-(Compensatory)-MARQUISE GOODWIN-WR-TEX-NFL COMP-DESEAN JACKSON-PHIL- The 49ers drafted speedster AJ Jenkins in the 1rst round last season, and he gave them squat. Goodwin is a Olympian who is a lot faster and will only cost them a 4th rounder.

132.DET-(Compensatory)-ODAY OBOUSHI-G/T-VA-NFL COMP-WILLIE COLON-PITT-Whether he ends up long term at right tackle or left guard the Lions have needs at both positions.

133.ATL-(Compensatory)-
EVERETT DAWKINS-DT-FLA ST-NFL COMP-DEREK LANDRI-PHILSEA-The falcons need interior pass rush in the worst way. Dawkins is a former DE that has that kind of ability .

5TH

134.KC-WILLIAM GHOLSTON-DE-MICH ST-MICHAEL JOHNSON-CINC-Gholston is a larger version of his first round bust cousin Vernon Gholston. He can be as good as he wants to. This late it's worth taking a shot that he realizes his immense talent.

135.NE(jax)-JORDAN REED-TE-FLA-NFL COMP-AARON HERNANDEZ-NE-Both Gronk and Hernandez are coming off injuries and nether may be ready to start the season on time.Reed can at least help fill in for Hernandez as the move tight end.

136.PHIL-*JELANI JENKINS-OLB-FLA-NFL COMP-SEAN WEATHERSPOON-ATL-Jenjkins has the ability to at least be a nickle linebacker and special teams standout early on.

137.DET-MARC ANTHONY-CB/S-CAL-NFL COMP-NATHAN VASHER(ret)-Anthony can play both safety and corner. The lions need help at both.

138.SEA(oak)-SEAN PORTER-LB-TEX A&M-NFL COMP-LEROY HILL-SEA-Porter reminds me of Leroy Hill and the Seahawks need to replace Leroy Hill. Shazam!

139.OAK(clev)-JEFF LOCKE-P-UCLA-legendary punter Shane Lechler was let go in a salary cap move and signed with the Texans.

140.AZ-*MATT SUMMERS-GAVIN-G/T-CAL-JON ASAMOAH-KC-Gavin can play both guard and tackle and that versatility alone should help him earn a roster spot.

141.NYJ-LANDRY JONES-QB-OKLA-NFL COMP-PHILLIP RIVERS-SD-I am not a fan but he's a better fit in that stadium than Sanchez. I am not sure if either of them will ever be mentally tough enough to be a franchise QB.

142.TENN-*BRANDON JENKINS-DE/OLB-FLA ST-NFL COMP-ALDON SMITH-SF-If Derrick Morgan can't stay healthy , or Kameron Wembley can't be more consistent they will need a new DE next year. Jenkins was a probable 1rst round pick before his injury and might play like one again.

143.STL(buff)-AJ KLEIN-LB-IA ST-NFL COMP-KELVIN SHEPPARD-BUFF- The rams need an upgrade at strongside LB. If Klein learns to play as fast as he runs in shorts and a tee-shirt he could play early. He can at least be a special teams guy.

144.NO-*DENARD ROBINSON-ATH-MICH-NFL COMP-JOSH CRIBBS-CLEV-He's a playmaker and Sean Payton knows what do with those guys.

145.SD-LEON McFADDEN-CB-SD/ST-NFL COMP-TERRENCE NEWMAN-CINC-Quentin Jammer is a free agent and Antoine Cason is gone . Quentin Jammer has slowed enough where it's safety or nothing in my opinion. The chargers need to rebuild their entire roster, and they have very few cornerstone players on the roster. Best player available should be their mantra from the 4th round and on, but this pick does fill a need and McFadden is even a local boy.

146.MIA-*LUKE MARQUARDT-OT-AZ PAC-NFL COMP-JARED VELDHEER-OAK-This small school talent missed the season because of injury but he was trained by HOFer Jackie Slater and has all the talent and size you could want.

147.TB-MELVIN WHITE-S/CB-LA LAF-NFL COMP-MICHAEL GRIFFIN-TENN- Revis helps but Eric Wright is nothing special and another big corner can't hurt.

148.CAR-EARL WOLF-S-NC.ST-NFL COMP-MAJOR WRIGHT-CHI-Neither Haruki Nakamura or Charles Godfrey really inspires a defense . Maybe the hometown boy can.

149.STL-JORDAN HILL-DT-PENN ST-NFL COMP-GARY GIBSON-RAMS-best player available and maybe cloning Gray Gibson isn't such a bad idea.

150.PITT-VINSTON PAINTER-OT-VA.TECH-NFL COMP-D'BRICKASHAW FERGUSON-JETS- Mike Adams and Marcus Gilbert are still works in progress. Painter has left tackle ability but he is still raw.

151.DALL-#ARMONTY BRYANT-DE-EC OKLA-NFL COMP-TAMBA HALI-KC-Just in case Anthony Spencer is just around this year and that Tyrone Crawford is moved inside they will need another base end. This small school talent  has elite potential .

152.NYG-MICHAEL RIVERA-TE-TENN-NFL COMP-OWEN DANIELS-HOU-The Brandon Myers signing helps but the Giants like a lot of 2 TE sets. At the least Rivera can be a move TE with great hands.

153.CHI-JOE KRUGER-DE/OLB-UTAH-NFL COMP-ROB JACKSON-WASH-The bears have very little depth behind Julius Peppers and Shea McClellan.

154.WASH-CHASE THOMAS-LB-STAN-NFL COMP-KAMERON WEMBLEY-TENN -Some people are just playmakers and Thomas is one of them. The redskins lost both starting OLBs for an extended period of time last year. It's possible with some time Thomas can also be a strong-side 4-3 backer.

155.MINN-#MARQUESS WILSON-WR-WASH ST-NFL COMP-SIDNEY RICE-SEA-A great jump ball guy with a lot of talent who's character problems really cost him.

156.CINC-REID FRAGEL-OT-OH.ST-NFL COMP-MARCUS GILBERT-PITT-This former TE has elite measurables and unless Andre Smith signs they need another body at right tackle.

157.SF(indy)-MICHAEL WILLIAMS-ALA-TE-NFL COMP-JIM KLEINSASSER-MINN-(ret)- The best blocking TE in this draft. This offense uses a lot of 2 TE sets and the loss of Delanie Walker is important. If TE doesn't work out for him I think he could be a starting right tackle after a year trying to put on more size.

158.SEA-JORDAN MILLS-T/G-LA-TECH-NFL COMP-ANTHONY DAVIS-SF-Mills is probably a better fit at guard ,but can play some tackle if absolutely necessary .The hawks need both.

159.GB-AARON MELLETTE-WR-ELON-NFL COMP-MUHSIN MUHAMMAD-(ret)-Greg Jennings is now a Viking and James Jones will be a free agent next year. The Pack is 3 or 4 wide on almost every play. I wouldn't be surprised to see them draft a wide receiver and a TE in the first 5 rounds.

160.HOU-MONTORI HUGHES-DT-TENN MART-NFL COMP-TERRENCE KNIGHTON-JAX- The Texans have need a real nose tackle for a long time.

161.DENV-JOSEPH RANDLE-RB-OKLA ST-NFL COMP-JOSEPH ADDAI-FA-Willis McGahee is in his 30's and Ronnie Hillman is more of a change of pace back. Randle is used to being a workhorse back, and he has the hands and pass pro for this offense.

162.WASH(ne)-GERALD HODGES-LB-PENN ST-NFL COMP-DEANDRE LEVY-DET-London Fletcher may actually retire and they don't have placement handy.

163.ATL-*CHRIS GRAGG-TE-ARK-NFL COMP-DALLAS CLARK-TB-This absolutely the final season for Tony Gonzalez.

164.CLEV(sf)-#CIERRE WOOD-RB-N.DAME-NFL COMP-RYAN GRANT-GB-A possible reliable long term backup to Peterson because Toby Gerhart is a free agent next year.

165.BALT-JEFF BACA-OL-UCLA-NFL COMP-DONALD THOMAS-NE-The versatile Baca can play all three interior O-line positions. He's the kind of grinder that it's almost impossible to cut.

166.MIA-TAVARES KING-WR-GA-NFL COMP-BRANDON LLOYD-NE-Best player available and he's still not even remotely realized his potential.

167.GB-NICK WILLIAMS-DT-SAMF-NFL COMP-ALEX CARRINGTON-BUFF-An extremely talented athlete from a small school who can be coached into a role as at least a situational pass rusher early on.

168.BALT-KYLE JUSZCZYK-FB-HARV-NFL COMP-TOM RATHMAN(ret)-Vonta Leach is the leagues best fullback. He is also the leagues highest paid fullback and will be 32 this season. The Ravens have shown a willingness to squeeze high priced vets even when they produce  . This Harvard man had a great senior bowl , can play fullback & H-back,can be a cores special teams player, and excels as both a receiver & blocker. And I'm spent!
